This is a camping trip. Simple facilities and lack of emphasis on creature comforts make this an authentic experience of the Australian outback. A Single Supplement is not available on the default version of this trip. As a single traveller you will have a tent to yourself on camping nights, however in the permanent tented camps you will be paired up with another single traveller of the same gender. An accommodation upgrade (Camping Plus) for nights 4, 5, 6, 7 and 10 is available upon request and subject to availability at an additional cost. Camping Plus can also be booked with the option of a single supplement. Please see the accommodation section of your trip notes or speak to your travel agent for more details.

On some days of the trip, you’ll spend several hours driving through very sparse areas of Australia. Sit back and enjoy landscapes that you would miss in any other form of travel. Extra space can be tight, and conditions may feel a little cramped. There will be some very early mornings.
verified
This itinerary involves clambering over rocks, wading in water by torchlight, walking on rocky creek beds and ascending and descending into gorges. A reasonable level of fitness and being sure on your feet is necessary to participate.

WEATHER
verified
Departures are all subject to regional weather conditions and road closures – usually only a concern in Apr & Oct / Nov.
verified
LUGGAGE
verified
Space in our vehicles is limited so please keep luggage light – bring only essentials in a small soft bag, MAXIMUM 15kg. Suitcases are NOT suitable. Excess luggage must be left in Broome or sent to a forward destination.
verified
PARTICIPATORY CAMPING
verified
It is important that travellers participate in setting up camp each night, though the leader can assist where necessary. The leader also appreciates the assistance or one or two group members in preparing/clearing meals. It is essential that all our groups leave the camp they stay in as they found them for the next travellers - the Kimberley is a pristine wilderness and it is our responsibility to ensure it stays this way.

DIETARY REQUIREMENTS
verified
It is very important that you advise us of any dietary requirements and allergies at least 2 weeks prior to departure. We need this information well ahead of time to be able organise catering for the trip. Broome's remote location means that some food items will not be available on short notice, and once the trip has commenced changes to dietary requirements are not possible.

This was a great adventure to remote part Australia. Jake & Nell made the trip exciting, fun & a learning experience. Short hikes through gorgeous country, jumping in waterholes, interesting dialogue & delicious meals. This is a camping holiday, so not glamorous, but sleeping under the starry sky was a wonderful experience. Pitching in the set up camp & with the meals each night help bond the group of 20. Travellers. Personally, I think this was the best way to see the Kimberley’s.

My 11 day Wild Kimberly Overland tour was incredible. Our guides Meg and Danny had so much knowledge to share about each location. They made some awesome food, were so much fun, and made the trip pretty amazing!

This was my second Intrepid Tour, and now I know why people keep coming back for more. The Kimberley eleven day trip was fabulous, hard work and lots of fun. The tour guides made the trip a joy and the itinerary included everything we needed to see. My advice to you: DO IT 😊

Experiencing the Kimberley with Intrepid Tours was the best!! We saw so much and I didn’t have to organise anything. Daniel and Meghan were fabulous leaders. The other travellers were wonderful and we all got along so well. This trip is. It for the faint hearted. Swimming in amazing gorges, lakes and waterholes requires the ability to trek over very rocky ground, wade through waste high water and walk in very hot temperatures. But it is so worth it! What a beautiful and awe inspiring world we live in!!
