Why you’ll love this trip
Explore the Tunnel Creek cave system and learn about Jandamarra – a First Nations freedom fighter who used the caves to evade police in the late 1800s.
Take a guided walk through the Wunaamin Miliwundi Ranges Conservation Park to Manning Gorge, where you can swim under a waterfall and see ancient First Nations rock art.
Spend two nights under the stars in your private permanent tented camp in Purnululu National Park, with views of the Bungle Bungles.
Go inside Cathedral Gorge and discover the natural amphitheatre of red rock, hollowed out over millions of years to create this massive acoustic wonder.
Visit Lake Argyle – one of the largest man-made lakes in the southern hemisphere. Learn how the lake transformed this dry region into an agricultural oasis and swim in the infinity pool at Lake Argyle camp.
Is this trip right for you?
This is a camping trip. Simple facilities and lack of emphasis on creature comforts make this an authentic experience of the Australian outback. A Single Supplement is not available on the default version of this trip. As a single traveller you will have a tent to yourself on camping nights, however in the permanent tented camps you will be paired up with another single traveller of the same gender. An accommodation upgrade (Camping Plus) for nights 4, 5, 6, 7 & 10 is available upon request and subject to availability at an additional cost. Camping Plus can also be booked with the option for a single supplement. Please see the accommodation section of your trip notes or speak to your travel agent for more details.
On some days of the trip, you’ll spend several hours driving through very sparse areas of Australia. Sit back and enjoy landscapes that you would miss in any other form of travel. Extra space can be tight, and conditions may feel a little cramped. There will be some very early mornings.
This itinerary involves some clambering over rocks, wading in water by torchlight, walking on rocky creek beds and ascending/descending into gorges. A reasonable level of fitness and being sure on your feet is necessary to participate.

LUGGAGE
Space in our vehicles is limited so please keep luggage light – bring only essentials in a small soft bag, MAXIMUM 15kg. Suitcases are NOT suitable. Excess luggage must be left in Broome or sent to a forward destination.
PARTICIPATORY CAMPING
It is important that travellers participate in setting up camp each night, though the leader can assist where necessary. The leader also appreciates the assistance or one or two group members in preparing/clearing meals. It is essential that all our groups leave the camp they stay in as they found them for the next travellers - the Kimberley is a pristine wilderness and it is our responsibility to ensure it stays this way.

This tour provides people with the opportunity to see a special part of Australia in a generally comfortable environment whilst also enhancing your knowledge. The activities and places visited are both diverse and sensational. Our guides, Sylvia and Meg were fantastic, cooking up great meals and ensuring that the trip was one that we will always remember!

Intrepid's Broome to Broome 11-day Kimberley tour is like a magic carpet ride of fabulous adventure and beautiful scenery. It is designed to get you to Kimberley highlights and concentrate the intense driving to several days. The early starts are worth it. Walks in to gorges are generally less than a few kilometres but very rocky under foot, sometimes include creek crossings and you can usually swim in a cool pool when you get there, heaven!

This was an amazing trip thanks to the hard work and passion of our tour leader Jake . Jake and Jeri both worked hard to ensure we understood the indigenous history, knowledge and remarkable natural history of this place. Some tough walks, amazing views and long drives. An upgrade to the bus fleet would make a big difference

Travelling through the vast ancient landscape of the Kimberley is a stark reminder of our insignificance. But indigenous displacement is right there - in your face — and very confronting given the last 150 years.
