We recommend packing light and smart for this trip as you'll be required to carry your own luggage at times, which can include going up and down multiple flights of stairs and across cobblestones.
verified
Summer temperatures can be extreme in many of the regions visited (over 40C), which can be uncomfortable. It's important to use sun protection, wear layers to combat the heat and drink plenty of water. Please carefully consider the time of the year you wish to travel and your suitability to that season.
verified
This trip includes time spent travelling in a private vehicle with your group. Extra space can be tight, and conditions may feel a little cramped. It's all part of the adventure and a great way to get to know your fellow travellers. There are a few long days of travel, as you'll be covering a lot of ground. You will, however, make stops at interesting locations to break up the longer drives. Please read the itinerary carefully for travel time estimates.

This trip provided an excellent overview of the 5 Balkan countries we explored. Tour guide Danijela communicated well with our group, was historically and culturally well informed and did a fine job of escorting us around her part of the world.

Our leader Dina was sensational. She clearly knows her way around the Balkans and I wouldn’t have had as good of a time without her. However, the last two hotels in Montenegro and Croatia should be changed for future trips.

This was a great trip for getting an insight into the Western Balkan countries. All of them are similar but different and all of them have amazing scenery, interesting history and great food. Our Tour Leader, Vladimir, and my fellow travellers made the trip really enjoyable. The accommodation, activities and provided meals were all great.
