Trip Informations
Why you’ll love this trip
Walk the final 100 km of the iconic Camino de Santiago with a local leader to provide historical context and add a deeper layer of understanding to your discoveries.
Uncover scenes of the real Galicia as you walk through traditional countryside, small hamlets, ancient bridges, roman ruins and beautifully preserved horreos on stilts.
Fuel your journey with unique Galician specialties, including traditional polbo a feira (octopus) in Melide and world-renowned cheese in Arzua.
Take a sip of Galicia’s Celtic history as your leader shows you how to make the traditional and mythical queimada drink – prepare for a fiery show!
Feel an unbeatable sense of accomplishment as you complete your journey in the fascinating ancient city of Santiago de Compostela and collect your Camino certificate.
Is this trip right for you?
This trip involves plenty of walking and is best suited to travellers with a good level of mobility. Good footwear is a must.
There will be some long walking days, and we recommend reading descriptions of all walks carefully. Your longest walking day is 29 km, but there will be the option to take a taxi to shorten the walking distance.
During your trip you will visit numerous religious sites. You will need to bring clothes that cover the shoulders and knees. A light scarf is a good idea for covering shoulders and arms when it’s hot. Your leader will be able to advise when such clothing is necessary.
On this trip you must pack as lightly as possible because you’ll be expected to carry your own bag. Although you won't be required to walk long distances with your luggage (max 30 minutes), we strongly recommend keeping the weight under 15 kg (33 lb). Most travellers carry their luggage in a backpack, although an overnight bag with a shoulder strap would suffice. You'll also need a day pack/bag to carry water and a camera for daytrips.

Oswaldo was an incredible team leader. He had dinner with us every night which encouraged team bonding. He selected wonderful eating venues which made the trip feel like a food tour. He was super enthusiastic and we always felt well supported. Could not have asked for a better leader!! Thank you Ozzie!!!

My experience on the Camiño trip with Intrepid was excellent. We had excellent accommodation, communication but the best part was having a wonderful guide to support us and give us cultural and historical insights along the way. Excellent!

Cristina was an exceptional guide, always with a positive upbeat attitude. She had a lot of knowledge about Spain and truly cared about our experience on the Camino. Walking long distance is hard if you’re not used to it. There are some inclines.

The Camino trip was a once in a lifetime experience for me. It challenged me but I achieved it. The tour leader Fernanda was inspiring, supportive, encouraging, and kept us all going. It felt great knowing our environmental impact was low. I loved being part of everyone else who was walking, the dogs, the horses, the Celtic bagpipes along the way. There was mist, drizzle, rain and sunshine. It was like heaven.

If you are a first time Camino walker like me, don't hesitate to book. We had a fantastic local guide Miguel who we would have been lost without - between translations, his incredible knowledge of not only the route but the history behind it and also his vast experience walking the Camino ( how to pace ourselves, hidden historical monuments etc) - we wouldn't have had the same experience without him.

This tour was an unforgettable experience. Our guide's knowledge was truly astounding, and they set a perfect pace for the group. Their invaluable assistance with language and logistics made the journey completely stress-free. The trip was made ten times better thanks to this booking with Intrepid.
