Trip Informations
Whether you’re looking for a physical challenge or a religious pilgrimage, walking the Camino de Santiago is sure to be a life-affirming and personally enriching adventure. Over seven days, undertake a journey along the final 100 km of Spain’s Camino de Santiago, travelling with a small group of likeminded travellers and a local leader to add a deeper layer to your discoveries. Follow in the footsteps of ancient pilgrims as you walk through beautiful Galician countryside, passing hamlets, roman ruins and stilted horreos. The feeling of arriving at the finishing point in Santiago de Compostela simply can’t be beat.
Why you’ll love this trip
Walk the final 100 km of the iconic Camino de Santiago with a local leader to provide historical context and add a deeper layer of understanding to your discoveries.
Uncover scenes of the real Galicia as you walk through traditional countryside, small hamlets, ancient bridges, roman ruins and beautifully preserved horreos on stilts.
Fuel your journey with unique Galician specialties, including traditional polbo a feira (octopus) in Melide and world-renowned cheese in Arzua.
Take a sip of Galicia’s Celtic history as your leader shows you how to make the traditional and mythical queimada drink – prepare for a fiery show!
Feel an unbeatable sense of accomplishment as you complete your journey in the fascinating ancient city of Santiago de Compostela and collect your Camino certificate.
Is this trip right for you?
This trip involves plenty of walking and is best suited to travellers with a good level of mobility. Good footwear is a must.
There will be some long walking days, and we recommend reading descriptions of all walks carefully. Your longest walking day is 29 km, but there will be the option to take a taxi to shorten the walking distance.
During your trip you will visit numerous religious sites. You will need to bring clothes that cover the shoulders and knees. A light scarf is a good idea for covering shoulders and arms when it’s hot. Your leader will be able to advise when such clothing is necessary.
Your luggage will be transported between hotels, and you are only expected to carry essentials during the hike (water, sun protection, camera, etc.). For your main luggage, you are allowed one bag or suitcase with a maximum weight of 18 kg. No items should be strapped to your luggage, such as shoes, walking poles, etc. Transport of any extra luggage will incur a small fee, which will be charged at the Welcome Meeting.

My Camino trip was amazing because of my Trip Leader, Bea. She was informative, really talented and very funny and made my walk lots of fun. I was the last to arrive at any stop and destination and her duty of care in hanging back to make sure I was doing ok was on point and with genuine care. If you ever do this trip and get Bea as your Trip Leader, you will be truly blessed.

Good trip. Great guide. 20-30km/day. Only a couple of steep gradients. Many cafes and restaurants all with toilets. If you’re lucky enough to have Ozzie as your guide you will have a fun and safe time. He is well organised and welcoming, enthusiastic, energetic, knowledgeable and kind.

Dont look any further for a group travel company. Intrepid was great, not over the top expensive, very organized, very easy to communicate with. The groups were small which encouraged conversation and friendship. I will go on another group trip with Intrepid. Make sure you have Ossy as your guide... he was more than exceptional!

Camino de Santiago was an amazing and well organized trip. The long walk in Galician countryside was beautiful and refreshing to my body and soul. We were very lucky to have hiked along with a wonderful group of individuals. The real highlight of the trip was our guide Oswaldo. His fun, positive, and caring attitude was contagious. He was radiating love for his country and joy for life. Hands down - best guide ever!

It was more physically challenging than what I had expected but with the help and support of our amazing guide who was full of stories and surprises along the way and the other members of the group it was an extremely enjoyable experience. The trip organization was flawless.

The Camino walk was an amazing adventure. Whilst we walked over 100km, there was time for coffee and lunch without bring rushed. Reaching Santiago was a surreal experience. To complete the Camino was immensely satisfying.
