Trip Informations
Why you’ll love this trip
Glide through the lily pad-filled waterways of the Okavango Delta on a mokoro (a small dugout canoe) and escape civilisation with an overnight stay at your island camp.
Be mesmerised by the staggering force and beauty of Victoria Falls, and experience firsthand why it’s known as the ‘smoke that thunders’ – a natural wonder that must be seen to be believed.
Choose to take an optional cruise down the Chobe River for the opportunity to get up close (but not too personal) to cheetahs, crocodiles and the African elephant.
Listen to the songs and stories of Namibia’s San people, the oldest inhabitants of southern Africa, and gain an insight into their traditional customs and beliefs.
Enjoy a full-day game drive in Etosha National Park, home to a wide range of southern Africa's wildlife, including the endangered black rhino.
By travelling on this trip, you’ll directly support our Tuuur Foundation partner, Victoria Falls Wildlife Trust. Donations help employ a team of Community Guardians who collaborate with locals to find sustainable solutions to human-wildlife conflict and conservation in Southern Africa.
Is this trip right for you?
This is an overland trip. That means you’ll be travelling with a group in a purpose-built vehicle, visiting remote communities, setting up your own tent (unless you’re on an Original or Comfort style trip), occasionally roughing it in the bush with no facilities, and getting the best possible views of the Big Five. For more info on this style of travel, see our Africa overland page: https://www.tuuur.com/africa/overland https://www.tuuur.com/africa/overland (https://www.tuuur.com/africa/overland)
As the early bird catches the worm, the early camper sights the animals. There will be many early starts either to make better use of the safari time or to beat the morning traffic on long travel days.
Itinerary
Explore the contrasting lands of southern Africa
Experience the extremes of southern Africa’s landscapes on this trip that travels from the thunderous Victoria Falls to cosmopolitan Cape Town, travel down lush waterways in the enigmatic Okavango Delta, cruise past elephants and birds on the Chobe River, climb giant sand dunes in Namibia, camp to the sounds of Africa's wildlife and spot big cats, rhinos, zebras and antelopes on Etosha National Park's arid plains. Visit the people who make their homes here, from mokoro polers on the delta to the San people of Namibia.

What an incredible, unforgettable trip this was! We had such a lovely group, our tour guide Paul was great, our cook Simon managed to cater wonderfully to our specific food requirements (we are both vegans), John was an amazingly skilled driver and the sights on this journey were just incredible. I cannot recommend this trip highly enough!

This was a fabulous trip. Victoria Falls to Cape Town seems the best direction (as opposed to the reverse). We saw some wonderful sights. Plenty of chances to upgrade if tired, WiFi in most campsites, some beautiful spots and wonderful life experiences. Our team (Paul, John & Simon) were fabulous. If you get these guys - you're lucky!

This was my first time camping, so if you are a beginner I would recommend. Our crew Paul, Simon & John made the trip incredible. 1. Get prepared to leave fatter than you came 2. The story telling from Paul was exceptional so I hope you have that experience 3. I wasn't sure about this but you can bring your laptop 4. I would recommend going from vic falls to cape town as the camp sites get better 5. It was great to not have to think about what I am doing every day for 3 weeks 6. You will not regret booking this trip

Incredible part of the world with a great group of people. So much diversity in one trip - from the rainforests of Vic Falls and game drives to the desert and coastal landscapes of Namibia, you cover a lot of ground and see a lot to leave you inspired. The truck was comfortable and the camp sites were above expectations. Erellah, Ken and Wilson were wonderful and had a lot of knowledge and fun to share.

Amazing eye opening trip - absolutely loved it (and I'm not a natural camper) - mind blowing landscapes and wildlife. Our guide MJ; driver - Rasta; chef H; all completely outstanding - lovely people.

I need to know the risk of namibia travel, such as camera zoom crush by sand and ATM skiming.

An unforgettable experience! The landscapes were breathtaking, the wildlife absolutely spectacular, and meeting local people made it even more special. The trip was well organized and the guide fantastic. It’s the best way to discover that part of Africa. Long drives are worth every minute. I highly recommend it!
