Trip Informations
Why you’ll love this trip
Watch the sun set and rise over Uluru – a massive sandstone monolith in the heart of the Northern Territory’s arid Red Centre and Australia’s most iconic site. In the evening, watch the landscape change from a prime viewing area, then at sunrise, walk around the rock’s base as it lights up.
Take the Kata Tjuta Walpa Gorge walk with your local leader, where Kata Tjuta (Mount Olga) towers on one side above the track below.
Walk to the Mutitjulu Waterhole and soak in the incredible Outback landscape as you learn about its importance to the Indigenous Anangu people.
Look up – this area of Australia’s Outback is pretty incredible for stargazing! With minimal light pollution, you’ll be able to see the Milky Way in all her glory.
Is this trip right for you?
Temperatures in Australia's Red Centre can be extreme, so you will need to be well-prepared with clothing for the weather. Depending on the time of the year, daytime can be very hot (and the Australian sun is very strong year-round) so always use sun protection and drink plenty of water. In the evenings temperatures can really drop, so bring sufficient warm clothing - in winter temperatures can be below zero at night.
As sunrise and sunset times as well as weather conditions vary throughout the year, the order of activities may change to ensure you have the best experience possible. On occasion, the First Nations experiences may not be available should our guides have other cultural commitments, in which case we will include alternative activities.

Itinerary
Take a short trip to see the massive monolith of Uluru and the red hues of Kata Tjuta
On this Outback Australian adventure, spend three days soaking up the iconic sites and natural landscapes of the Northern Territory. Starting in either Alice Springs or Yulara, you’ll watch as the sun sets over the epic monolith from a prime viewing location with your local leader and small group of fellow travellers. Then, walk around Kata Tjuta (formerly known as 'The Olgas') as mighty Mount Olga towers above your track and take a dot painting workshop with a local First Nations artist. Walk to the Mutitjulu Waterhole, maybe take the opportunity to spend the night at the Field of Lights experience, then look up as the brilliant night sky comes alive. End it all back at Uluru with one of the best sunrises you’ve ever seen!
