Trip Informations
Encounter wildlife up close and personal on a voyage to the Galapagos Islands for an experience like no other. On this 10-day adventure, you’ll spend seven nights cruising around the islands, snorkelling with sea lions, white-tipped reef sharks, sea turtles and penguins. Look to the skies in North Seymour or Caleta Bucanero to spot boobies, pelicans and other seabirds soaring above. Wander across the volcanic landscapes of Punta Espinosa and see land iguanas and flightless cormorants. A paradise for nature-lovers, you’ll discover the beauty of the Galapagos all with a naturalist guide by your side to show you the way.
Why you’ll love this trip
verified
Hop aboard your vessel, Le Grande Daphne, and sail through the naturally beautiful landscapes of the Galapagos, all with a handy naturalist guide by your side.
verified
Hike, snorkel, sleep, repeat – this isn’t your average adventure cruise! You’ll have daily walks and hikes followed by snorkelling excursions to spot marine life and corals – the best way to cool off.
verified
Explore the remote west coast of Isabela on a small panga boat and venture to the far-west Fernandina – home of the highest density of marine iguanas.
verified
Encounter the unique Galapagos wildlife in their natural habitat, from giant blue-footed and masked boobies, pelicans and frigate birds to iguanas, sea lions and turtles.
verified
Walk varied landscapes among towering cacti, rocky cliffs, red-sand beaches, volcanic grounds and immersive sea coves.
Is this trip right for you?
verified
This trip involves lots of active adventure, and we ask that you read through the itinerary carefully to ensure that it is right for you. You’ll need to feel comfortable with the included activities and with moving about the boat. The cabins and communal areas of the boat are spread over three decks, and the steps between the decks are steep.
verified
A Zodiac boat (panga) is sometimes necessary to reach small islets, coves, and prime snorkelling spots. You must be comfortable climbing in and out of one during wet and dry landings.
verified
The waters of the Galapagos are generally calm and serene. However, there is always the possibility of choppy water at sea. Steady sea legs (and a sturdy stomach) will be needed when walking around the boat during bad weather. Rain or shine, your trusty crew will always be on hand to assist you.
verified
Things are never set in stone when you’re travelling on island time. A sense of humour and flexibility will ensure a fun, relaxing trip through this beautiful part of the world, no matter what happens. While the crew will do their best to follow the itinerary, variations may occur due to weather or under the direction of local authorities.

One of this best trips I have taken in many, many years. I’m so glad I took the advice of a friend and travelled with Intrepid on the Grand Daphne. Our guide, Ivan was exceptionally knowledgeable about all things on the land, in the sea and in the air. I learnt so much and his guidance just made this trip. The boat is fairly new and exceeded all my expectations. Lastly, the captain and the crew were committed to delivering a travel experience that I will talk about and recommend for years to come.

This was an absolutely amazing trip in every way - far exceeded expectations. Roberto was a fantastic guide, crew were wonderful in every way, food was terrific with lots of fresh veggies and fruits at every meal. Boat was really nice and modern. And of course, the itinerary around the stunning Galapagos was excellent- so beautiful. 2x snorkeling and 2x hikes/panga rides daily! So not restful, but highly efficient to see a LOT.

We had an amazing time in the Galapagos Islands with Intrepid on the 17 day "Absolute Galapagos" tour. We were unsure which duration to choose and we had certain islands we wanted to see. We are glad we went with the 17 day tour as we were able to see pretty much all the islands one can visit. The boat felt very luxurious and comfortable. Every member of the Grand Daphne crew work extremely hard to ensure we all received incredible service. Some exceptional crew members on our trip - Gaby (front of house and bartender) was always working hard to serve the guests and was up early every morning to make the coffee and serve breakfast, and there to serve us our drinks and dinner at 7 pm. Vicky the cabin stew ensured our cabins stayed fresh and clean, and Jacinto our guide on the boat was incredibly knowledgeable and a great leader. The panga drivers / engineers - Marcos, Carlos, Miguel and Carlos - took us to all the snorkeling sites and hikes and ensured we got there and back safely. Our chef team prepared incredible healthy food for all meals as well as snacks when we returned from an excursion. And of course the Captain Andreas ensured we arrived at all the various locations on mostly overnight navigation. We really appreciated all the effort everyone from the Intrepid team put into this trip.
