Is this trip right for you?
verified
On some days of the trip, you’ll spend many hours driving through very remote areas of Australia. Sit back and enjoy landscapes that you would miss in any other form of travel. The days can be long, but we want to fit as much of this amazing place in as we can in 6 short days!
verified
Stay in comfortable beds every night of the trip, with hotel accommodation for three nights and a resort with shared facilities facilities for two nights.
verified
Temperatures in the Top End can be extreme. During the day the weather can be very hot (and the Australian sun is very strong) so please bring appropriate clothing, use sun protection and drink plenty of water. In the evenings temperatures really drop so make sure you check the forecast and have warm clothes for the climate.
verified
As sunrise and sunset times as well as weather conditions vary throughout the year, the order of activities may change to ensure you have the best experience possible. On occasion, the First Nations experiences may not be available should our guides have other cultural commitments, in which case we will include alternative activities.

If you’re looking for a shorter, camping-based trip in the Top End, you might like to consider the 4-day Kakadu, Katherine & Litchfield Explorer. Search trip code PZRK on our website. Alternatively, if it is more comfort you are after, search for Best of the Top End & Kakadu (PZKK).

This trip was amazing! We did a variety of activities including some beautiful nature walks with the options of extra hikes, a couple of river cruises (saw lots of crocs!) and we swam at some beautiful waterholes. Our tour leader was fantastic and provided a lot of knowledge.

This trip combined experiencing the wonders of the Top End with developing a greater understanding of local life and culture. I really enjoyed the opportunities to look at the incredible rock art, get close to the wetland environments on the cruises and swim in some delightful rockpools. To top it off our leader, Muz, was enthusiastic, super organised and knowledgeable. This is a small group tour where you actually feel involved, not just an on-looker.

For those who aren’t necessarily into the heat / bush walking and not a water babies but your partner is, this trip could still be one to do. A bucket list trip for my husband and I’m very pleased I did it with him. The smaller group was perfect.

What a special part of Australia. I'm still wrapping my head around the landscapes, wildlife (so many crocs!), culture and swim spots we got to experience on this trip. The river cruises and our time at Litchfield National Park were two standout highlights, as was our leader Miguel, who went above and beyond to make sure we got the best of our experience. What a trip!
