Trip Informations
Why you’ll love this trip
Step into history at Kanchanaburi, home to the infamous 'Bridge on the River Kwai', before taking a swim in the turquoise water of Erawan waterfall.
Get an introduction to Bangkok on an EV boat trip through its canals, then make a visit to Wat Pho where the larger-than-life reclining Buddha will blow you and your family’s mind.
Learn about local life during a day trip to Ban Hua Tung village, then sample some delicacies with a traditional lunch cooked by the community.
Spend a morning at the Chang Chill elephant experience, watching these incredible creatures freely (from a distance) and learning about the organisation’s conservation efforts.
Let your expert leader take the hassle out of family travel as they guide you through the sights and bites of Thailand, so relax and hand over the responsibility – you deserve it.
By travelling on this trip, you’ll learn about our Tuuur Foundation partner, World Animal Protection. Donations support them to promote better living conditions for elephants in captivity and help rescue elephants from inhumane conditions. Tuuur will double your impact by dollar-matching all post-trip donations made to The Tuuur Foundation.
Is this trip right for you?
Prepare for hot and sticky temperatures during the day, but cooler climates in the evening. Layers are the best way to tackle this. Be sure to also drink plenty of water and use sun protection.
You and your family will visit several temples on this trip, which means covering up arms and shoulders as per the local custom. A light scarf is a great idea for covering shoulders and arms when it’s hot.
Your overnight train journey (Day 4) is quite long. Make the most of it by checking out the scenery and chatting with local travellers. There's nothing quite like waking up on a sleeper train in a new and exciting destination. While bedding is supplied some families choose to bring their own sleep sheets.

If you are considering travelling intrepid with your family then do it. We has a wonderful holiday and didn't have to think about anything. Such a well organised holiday for our family. Comfortable accomodation and transport.

My son and I had a great time on our Interpid tour of Thailand. The activities were perfect, child appropriate and things I doubt I would have ever organised or been aware of, on my own. The hotels were excellent and the whole experience was seamless. Our host Ning was the best!

This was our second intrepid family adventure and it didn't disappoint! It's a great way to pack in some serious travelling and enable your kids to see the real country. I found this trip to be well paced and we really got to experience the real Thailand. You will need more time on your own in Bangkok to see more of the city. We just added an extra night at the start and end of the trip.

The family holiday was fantastic, a good mix of activities & enough space to not feel rushed. Kung was our guide, she was knowledgeable, helpful and quickly became part of the family! If you’re on the fence, definitely do it! The community visit was my highlight, and thanks to kung the food was amazing!

A great holiday where someone else looks after all of the organisation. Elephants in Chiang Mai were a stand out - it was heartening to see the ethical practices implemented (such as not touching or washing elephants) and the reasoning behind this. We were able to get incredibly close, but still felt safe. The village nesr CHiang Dao was a wonderful opportunity to interact with people outside the cities. This trip has a nice mix of activities with some free time to relax or go exploring.
