Trip Informations
Discover the raw beauty of Freycinet National Park on foot and by boat on this four-day walking adventure. Walk to the top of Bear Hill for sweeping views of the Freycinet Peninsula, head to a lookout for vistas of the globally renowned Wineglass Bay and see the towering White Water Wall. Set off on a coastal walk with plenty of opportunities for birdlife sightings or challenge yourself with a rewarding climb up Mt Graham for views of the dusty-pink Hazards Mountain Range. Tuck into fresh and local produce for dinner each night at a lodge set in the Friendly Beaches Reserve – the perfect spot for swimming or kicking back on the sand.
Why you’ll love this trip
Walk white sand beaches and take in sweeping coastal views as you go on walks with expert local guides. Climb up Bear Hill for panoramic views, then birdwatch during a coastal walk from Bryan’s Beach or embark on a challenging climb up Mt Graham.
Dine on freshly prepared meals made from local produce and sip Tasmanian wine each night as you get to know your fellow travellers and swap stories from your walking adventures.
Unwind at your lodge in the Friendly Beaches Reserve, where you’ll be surrounded by casuarinas (she-oaks), tea trees and banksias. And, catch glimpses of native wildlife from your doorstep.
See Freycinet National Park from a different perspective when you explore by boat. Cruise down the peninsula to Schouten Island – the perfect spot for a swim, a picnic and maybe even a dolphin sighting!
Witness the renowned natural beauty of Wineglass Bay, recognised on the World’s 50 Best Beaches list for its bright white sands and blue waters backdropped by lush green mountains.
Is this trip right for you?
This is a hiking trip. Please come physically prepared and with the right hiking gear in order to complete the hikes safely and comfortably. Please read the trip notes carefully and take note of the packing list.
Please note that there is no mobile phone coverage at the lodge and out on the trails each day. Coles Bay has coverage but it can be very patchy and depends on your carrier. There are power outlets available in the main lodge for you to charge phones and cameras, but there is no power in the sleeping lodges.
