Cycle a mostly downhill route through the green heart of Sri Lanka’s tea country in ‘the Golden Valley of Ceylon’.
Get to know the layered history of Galle during a walking tour, uncovering the city’s maze of streets, historic buildings, lighthouse and the famed 17th-century fort.
By travelling on this trip, you’ll directly support our Tuuur Foundation partner, World Bicycle Relief. Donations provide school kids, health workers, and farmers in far-out areas with bicycles that provide access to education, healthcare, and income.

Highly recommend this trip! A packed itinerary showing a unique and authentic side of Sri Lanka. Yes, you need a decent level of fitness but if you’re in any doubt - do it! And order an E-bike if that’s something that concerns you. I was most concerned about the bike ride and it was my favourite part (and on a normal bike!). The people, food, wildlife and culture are so positive - thoroughly enjoyed it.

Hard to imagine a better way to experience deeply the fabric of a culture and people by throwing yourself into this action packed adventure over nine days. Great balance of physical activity and cultural experiences. Like minded lovely group of fellow travellers of all ages. Too many highlights to mention but cycling through tea country villages and camping in the Knuckles mountain range with entertainment by natural comic Amal were unforgettable experiences. Thanks to Chaminda for his kind calm leadership and for keeping us safe and attending to our every need. Dilsham’s ever present helpfulness and smile and Sameera’a expert driving all helped make it a perfect trip. Just go! You won’t regret it. Every day has highlights

I didn't want to go home! Sri Lanka has awesome scenery, wildlife and amazing food, but it was the locals that were so incredibly welcoming and genuinely happy to see us. Intrepid just tied it all together to showcase the very best Sri Lanka has to offer and for us it was an amazing action-packed holiday......

To have cycled through tea plantations in Sri Lanka following an iconic and simply stunning train from Kandy is an experience not to forget. Our leader Chami's enthusiasm for Sri Lankan shone through with warmth and passion. Nothing was too much trouble to make the trip second to none..

Great trip with a fast paced itinerary. Cycling through the tea plantations and villages was definitely the highlight. The itinerary could habe been extended by a day or two to include more time at both Kandy and Marissa. Also note that the train trip finishes at Hatton, and does not go all the way to Ella, which apparently is the most scenic section.
