Trip Informations
From a traditional Korean folk village to current K-pop culture, this eight-day trip will surely make the list of the best family holidays ever! You’ll explore South Korea’s capital, Seoul, with a walk through the bustling night market, scenic views over Naksan Mountain and plenty of free time to choose your own adventure. Visit the fascinating and sobering DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) from the South Korean side and see the impressive Gyeongbokgung Palace. Experience traditional Korean culture at Yongin Folk Village, chat to a monk at Girimsa Temple and make your own mala (Buddhist rosary). Explore the Golden City of Gyeongju and sleep in a traditional Hanok style accommodation. Head to Busan and check out the colourful Gamcheon Cultural Village and coastal scenery on the Haeundae Beach Train before toasting to a great adventure and making your way back to Seoul on a high-speed train – what a ride!
Why you’ll love this trip
Witness the effects of the Korean War first-hand at the border between South and North Korea on an eye-opening tour of the DMZ with a knowledgeable local guide.
Discover delicious flavours and new favourite foods for the kids with a walk through a night market in Seoul, then learn to make kimchi and kimbap in a family-friendly cooking class in Busan.
Step back in time in Yongin with a visit to the Korean Folk Village, then stay overnight in a hanok (traditional Korean house) in Gyeongju.
Chat to a monk and hear Korean folk tales (the inspiration behind K-pop groups and films like K-pop Demon Hunters!) before making your very own mala (Buddhist rosary).
Visit the colourful Gamcheon Cultural Village for some great photo ops, ride the coastal beach train and enjoy plenty of free time to relax on the sandy beaches of Busan.
Is this trip right for you?
This trip includes one night of accommodation in a Hanok (traditional house) in Gyeongju with Korean-style floor bedding. You’ll sleep on a futon-like mattress placed on the floor – while floor bedding can be firm compared to standard western mattresses, the floors are heated and comfortable blankets and pillows are provided.
The Korean temple visit provides a unique cultural experience, offering insight into Korean Buddhist way of life and the opportunity to participate in various traditional practices. Travelling with Tuuur means respecting local cultures and sensibilities, including dress codes, so be sure to have clothing that covers your shoulders and knees on this day.
