No two journeys in Africa are identical. There will be many early starts either to make use of the better safari time or to beat the morning traffic on long travel days. Be prepared for travel times to be longer or shorter than advised. Weather and road conditions can change things significantly, so embrace the detours, shortcuts, and unforgettable moments along the way.
verified
This is an overland trip. That means you’ll be travelling with a group in a purpose-built vehicle, visiting remote communities, setting up your tent, occasionally roughing it in the bush with no facilities, and getting the best possible views of iconic African wildlife. For more info on this style of travel, see our Africa overland page at tuuur.com/africa/overland.

Camping in the Serengeti National Park with no barriers between you and the animals is amazing, but it's important to heed the safety advice of your leader. You'll be briefed on arrival.

The day-to-day itinerary features a selection of optional activities. Please note that this list is not exhaustive and is intended only as a guide. Prices are approximate and may change at the discretion of the local provider. All activities are subject to availability.

Some passengers will have been travelling together prior to the start of this trip. You may also want to check out The Masai Heartlands if you have more time to explore in East Africa.

Everything came together perfectly to create an unforgettable experience. The wildlife and cultural encounters were outstanding, the staff were welcoming and committed to our experience, the fellow traveller’s were wonderful, and the food was healthy and delicious. I felt safe, welcomed, and well looked after from the very beginning.

I highly recommend this trip, I experienced things that I’ve not experienced before and it was absolutely incredible, I had to give up some comforts I was used to but it was totally worth it! If you cannot make up your mind about whether to go on this trip or not, just do it!

Our honeymoon Kenya/Tazania safari was excellent. Our crew of Patrick, Judy and Bernard made the trip special with their care of our group in their leading, cooking and driving. You’ll also have an ace time with the local guides and drivers in Tanzania. Thank you intrepid!
