Is this trip right for you?

This is an overland trip. That means you’ll be travelling with a group in a purpose-built vehicle, visiting remote communities, setting up your own tent (unless you’re on an Original or Comfort style trip), occasionally roughing it in the bush with no facilities, and getting the best possible views of the Big Five. While the trucks don’t have air conditioning, they do have sliding windows which let in the breeze and make it even easier to take spectacular snaps of the local wildlife. The drive days can be long, but it’s as much about the journey as the destination, and half the fun is the camaraderie. As the early bird catches the worm, the early camper sights the animals. There will be many early starts either to make use of the better safari time or to beat the morning traffic on long travel days.

Some passengers will have been travelling together prior to the start of this trip. You may also want to check out The Masai Heartlands if you have more time to explore in East Africa.

This is a once in a lifetime trip. To be able to visit such culturally, environmentally and historically significant locations in the one trip, is an absolute privilege. I couldn't recommend this more.

What a great team looking after us! But also what beautiful countries. Grateful I went on this trip. Read all the notes beforehand so was well across what I was getting into. Recommend the hot air balloon ride as an extra as well. Loved it!

For a short 8 day trip this itinerary really packs a punch! The elephants at amboseli, the wildlife of the Ngorongoro crater and the endless planes of the serengeti…three very different landscapes delivering an amazing experience! Also a nice mix of game drives in the truck and 4x4s! A great option if you’re short on time but don’t want to miss out on the adventure!

I had an unforgettable trip. It was amazing. Our group (guide/leader, cook and driver) we're amazing people. They made me feel home and safe from the beginning. They are happy, enthusiastic and very kind. And interested in you as a person. The serengeti was so beautiful. I had my eyes open the whole time. Trip of a lifetime.
