Trip Informations
Why you’ll love this trip
verified
Swim in the crystal-clear waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea and go snorkelling with the colourful fish and marine wildlife at each destination.
verified
Explore the ancient citadel of fortified Bonifacio in Corsica, as well as the many medieval houses, trendy bars, historic buildings and the bustling Old Town.
verified
Spot wildlife in beautiful Caprera, like the wild goats that roam freely. Look out for the varied birdlife on the island, too – declared a natural reserve for the seabirds that live here.
verified
If you choose, cycle around the lively city of Maddalena – a town in the archipelago of the same name that boasts many cafes, bars, restaurants and shops that are perfect for exploring on foot or by bike.
verified
Watch the sunset each night from a local, white sand beach or rise early each morning to watch the sunrise on the deck of your group’s yacht.
Is this trip right for you?
verified
As most of this trip takes place on a sailing boat, you’ll need to feel comfortable with moving about the vessel, including using stairs. The ship will experience some roll and pitch in choppy conditions, however, all our ships come equipped with stabilisers to minimise movement. There will be seasickness tablets on board, and your crew will do all they can to minimise discomfort.
verified
Our yachts have a small Zodiac on board, which is used to transport travellers to shore if we need to anchor in the bay. However, we will most often overnight in the small marinas on each island we visit, so the Zodiacs aren’t used. Zodiacs can sometimes be awkward to climb in and out of, but a sense of humour and a can-do attitude are all you need.
verified
This is an adventure on board a real yacht, which means living spaces, cabins, bathrooms, and showers need to be shared with other passengers. Sleeping quarters can be quite compact, but you will be spending the majority of your time above board in the open air.
verified
Time on the water also means time in the sun. Remember to pack sun protection, such as sunscreen and a hat, and drink plenty of water to keep hydrated. See the Essential Trip Information below for a full packing list.

Itinerary
Sail the waters of Sardinia through the Maddalena Archipelago to Corsica
Set sail across some of the most transparent, bluest water on earth on this relaxing nautical adventure to the coasts of Italy and France. Island-hop from Portisco to Bonifacio, stopping to snorkel among the coves of Caprera, swim in the archipelago, or find a quiet spot on a white sandy beach in Isola Santo Stefano. Climb the King Aragon Steps in Corsica, bush walk through wild national parks and cruise Maddalena Island on two wheels. The beauty of a sailing adventure is that each day you wake up in a new spot, with the freedom to do as much or as little as you please. At night, watch the sunset from the nearest beach or from the deck of your yacht and fall asleep to the undulating waves beneath.

ACCOMMODATION ONBOARD THIS SAILING YACHT
verified
This trip is accommodated entirely on board a yacht of between 48ft to 52ft. A typical yacht for 8 travellers is equipped with 4 double share cabins, 2/3 shared bathrooms and 2 showers. Our boats are real yachts and this is a real sailing trip. Yachts are designed to keep sleeping areas to the absolute minimum of space, while maximising common areas as much as possible.
verified
Rooms are allocated on arrival by our skipper according to group composition, which means it is not possible to reserve or guarantee any specific berth or cabin. Single passengers will be paired up with another passenger of the same gender, this will mean sharing a double cabin with a double mattress. Everyone including the skipper shares the bathrooms on board.
verified
While not everyone may feel entirely comfortable living in such close quarters, those who are looking to revel in the adventure and exhilaration of an authentic sailing trip usually find any discomfort from cramped living conditions is more than made up for by the whole experience.
verified
HOT WEATHER:
verified
Summer temperatures can reach up to 40°C, which can be uncomfortable for those not used to the heat. Please consider the time of the year you wish to travel and your suitability to that season.
verified
MINIMUM AGE:
verified
The minimum age on this trip is 15. Please note that triple cabins are not available. If travelling with a child, the child will need to share with one of the adults, and the other adult will share with another adult passenger, or pay a single supplement.
verified
PASSPORT DETAILS:
verified
Please provide full passport details at time of booking including exact name as per passport, date of birth, nationality, issue and expiry dates as these are essential for booking services on this trip.
verified
ADDITIONAL ACCOMMODATION:
verified
Please note that the majority of our sailing trips start and/or finish at a marina or port. If you have pre-booked any additional accommodation through us, you will need to make your own way to the joining point on day 1 and from the finish point on the final day. We do not provide transfers between hotels and the port/marina. Please check the Essential Trip Information for these details.
verified
TRIP KITTY:
verified
On this trip it's compulsory to contribute to a kitty of EUR100 per person. The kitty is an on-ground payment put into a central fund managed by travellers. It helps fund for breakfast and lunch on the boat and other small items such as ice, water, snacks and drinks. Travellers are responsible for the preparation of these meals onboard and to shop at port where supermarkets are often very close to the mooring. Kitty amounts are subject to change to reflect local price increases. On day 1, the skipper will talk through the kitty and how it will be managed (by yourself or fellow travellers) The kitty will be collected when you arrive at the welcome meeting or in stages throughout your trip.

Trip was fabulous. Great destinations. Be aware beds are tiny, we were lucky to not need to share. Sailing was great fun!

If you're up for an adventure then this trip is for you.
The stunning destinations during the trip was A plus! You can also do hiking when you're docked in the marina.
Sardinia and Corsica was a good combo, I wish it was a bit longer of a trip. But overall it was fantastic. Our Comandante, Bruno is an amazing human being, his patience was above and beyond. I'm grateful he was the captain of our sailboat, he is very knowledgeable with the ins and outs of sailing and navigation. I will definitely do this trip again. Though some of the rooms are pretty small and if you're doin a solo and you share the space with someone it's a bit of a challenge but overall you can work it out.

A terrific first experience with Intrepid. We sailed (versus motoring) 90% of our time. Bruno was very knowledgeable, always professional, and provided me with time to take the helm, trim sails, moor, and anchor.
The beaches of Sardinia, and port of Bonifacio, Corsica - and its history - were definitely the highlights.

Great holiday, thoroughly enjoyed every part of the trip. Would definitively recommend if this is the type of holiday someone is looking for, it does involve living at close quarters with others. Going to secluded beaches was a real highlight along with viewing so many different coastal areas & super yachts whilst sailing -all fascinating!

This was an epic adventure and I am so grateful to have been a part of it! From the gorgeous beaches, unique marinas, amazing food, and fun travel mates, this goes down as one of the best experiences of my life. You simply can’t get the same experience traveling on land, and I was able to meet new friends and learn about their lives. If you are on the fence about solo travel, just book this experience, you won’t regret it!

A fantastic experience sailing in Sardinia and Corsica. The trip was made all the more memorable because of the fabulous skipper Bruno. I would highly recommend this trip.

There are journeys that delight, and then there are those that change you. Sailing the Tyrrhenian Sea is unmistakably the latter. What lingers most, is the subtle transformation that occurs when you move at the pace of the sea. It doesn’t just connect islands—it slows your breath, sharpens your senses, and restores something ancient in you. It reminds you that beauty is often found in simplicity: in the sound of cicadas at dusk, the scent of myrtle on the breeze, the laughter of strangers turned friends over pasta and wine. Sardinia and Corsica are not destinations; they are mirrors. And the Tyrrhenian is their quiet oracle.

This trip was excellent however please be aware the sleeping area is very very small. It is hard to see from the image just how small the bedrooms are but in two of the cabins it is more like one single bed shared between two people. I was lucky that there were only 3 on my trip so we had plenty of room but with more people it would be very cramped. Still an excellent trip overall.
