Trip Informations
Why you’ll love this trip
Explore Redwoods National Park – home to some of the tallest and most ancient trees in the world – and discover gorgeous parklands, oak woodlands, condors and the Avenue of the Giants drive.
Walk along the rim of Crater Lake National Park – this natural wonder was formed 7700 years ago from the collapse of a mountain peak and is now the deepest lake in the USA fed by rain and snow.
Get a feel for what makes the Pacific Northwest’s beaches so special with a visit to Kalaloch, famous for its ‘Tree of Life’ – its roots holding onto nothing but air!
Head to the USA’s best wine region for Pinot Noir – Willamette Valley – and enjoy a wine tasting at a local winery in the valley, with gorgeous views of sprawling vineyards, hills and forest.
Wander around natural areas that will inspire awe – like the cascades of Multnomah Falls near Portland and the peaceful Hoh Rainforest in Olympic National Park.
Is this trip right for you?
This trip includes time spent travelling in a private vehicle with your group. Extra space can be tight, and conditions may feel a little cramped. It’s all part of the adventure and a great way to get to know your fellow travellers. Please read the itinerary carefully for travel time estimates.
From the redwoods to the rainforest, this trip can involve a lot of walking. Please ensure you bring sturdy walking shoes and comfortable clothes. To make the most of the trip, it's best if you have at least a moderate level of fitness.
Crater Lake National Park can get quite cold during the winter months, and it’s not uncommon for snow to still be on the ground in June. Make sure you pack appropriate layers for this, including wet weather gear.

Our guide Ron went out of his way and was a great leader. I really liked the international group (between 30 and 45 years old) and had a great time! I particularly liked the variety from nature, coastal road and cities on this trip.

A beautiful, fairly relaxed trip in a really special part of the country. The itinerary is well paced and well organised so super enjoyable. The scenery is beautiful in both sunshine and mist so don’t worry about the weather- just embrace it.

As a mature, single woman, I was afraid to travel alone even though I longed to travel. Then I heard about Intrepid and took an amazing tour into the Pacific Northwest. It has opened up the world to me!
