Why you’ll love this trip
Safari through Chobe National Park for a chance to see lions, elephants, zebras, impalas, wildebeest, giraffes, leopards, hyenas, jackals, warthogs, baboons, monkeys and much more.
There's nothing more relaxing than feeling the African sun on your face as you lie back in a mokoro, eyes closed while your expert poler propels you through the Okavango Delta.
Witness the incredible force of the Zambezi River as it plunges over the cliff edge, creating a stunning mist that nurtures the unique rainforest ecosystem surrounding Vic Falls.
Embark on a 4WD safari in Kruger National Park, where you'll track Africa’s legendary animals through breathtaking landscapes teeming with wildlife.
Experience the thrill of spotting majestic elephants, elusive leopards, and powerful lions, all from the comfort of your open-air vehicle on a safari through Hwange National Park.
Is this trip right for you?
This is an overland trip. That means you’ll be travelling with a group in a purpose-built vehicle, visiting remote communities, setting up your own tent, occasionally roughing it in the bush with no facilities, and getting the best possible views of Africa's iconic wildlife. While the trucks don’t have air conditioning, they do have sliding windows, which let in the breeze and make it even easier to take spectacular snaps of the local wildlife. The drive days can be long, but it’s as much about the journey as the destination, and half the fun is the camaraderie. For more info on this style of travel, see our Africa overland page:  https://www.tuuur.com/africa/overland https://www.tuuur.com/africa/overland (https://www.tuuur.com/africa/overland)
The African wild comes alive at sunrise, so there will be some early starts for game drives. The thrill of spotting your first lion or rhino is well worth the early start!

Important notes
1. A single supplement is available if you’d prefer not to share a room on this trip. The single supplement applies to all nights of your trip and is subject to availability. Please speak to your booking agent for further information.
2. This trip finishes upon arrival in Johannesburg on Day 17. Please do not book any flights until after 10pm this evening.
3. On occasion, especially during the peak months of May to September and December we are not able to secure campsites within the Kruger National Park. In this instance we will camp at a backpackers outside the park.
4. Border crossing delays in the region have been sporadic and difficult to predict. What takes an hour one day may take four hours the next. This may affect the order of activities in the itinerary. We understand this uncertainty can be frustrating, and we strongly recommend packing a bit of patience and flexibility.

As a solo traveller this trip exceeded my expectations. Got lucky with a great group and crew - family vibes. Lots of driving but to be expected when you’re visiting multiple countries.

What an amazing 17 days I had with the whole team! The crew consisting of Leroy, Nolo, and Thomas were fantastic in every way possible. They made our trip so fun and memorable in their own unique way. I thoroughly enjoyed their company, along with the rent of my camp mates. This will go down as one of my favourite memories. P.s Kruger is a must to see the big 5 multiple times. Thank you to the crew for everything, and to all my new friends from all over the world - I had the best time possible!

This trip is well worth it. If you are an introvert like myself do not worry about coming into a group trip like this I loved every minute of it. Of course the actives and locations were also wonderful. A big shout out to the crew as well Siya, Enuck and Thomas they made everything run very smoothly for us.

Fantastic trip, Long drives but it’s only way to get around. Camping and facilities exceeded expectations, really nice and comfy, most places had pools and hot water. The camp food is amazing. So many game drives you will see everything. You don’t visit schools or communities which maybe a negative if you want to do that.

We had an absolutely unforgettable and life-changing time on our tour! The animal experiences were simply amazing and exceeded all our expectations. What truly made this trip special, however, were the people. Our tour guide, Joe, was the heart of the journey. His passion and deep knowledge were evident every day, and his friendly, inclusive nature made the whole group feel like family. I also have to give a huge shout-out to our chef, Nolo, who prepared the most incredible meals and brought such wonderful energy to our group. Intrepid's commitment to ethical experiences is highly aligned with our travel style, and we highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a truly memorable adventure.
