Why you’ll love this trip
Safari through Chobe National Park for a chance to see lions, elephants, zebras, impalas, wildebeest, giraffes, leopards, hyenas, jackals, warthogs, baboons, monkeys and much more.
There's nothing more relaxing than feeling the African sun on your face as you lie back in a mokoro, eyes closed while your expert poler propels you through the Okavango Delta.
Witness the incredible force of the Zambezi River as it plunges over the cliff edge, creating a stunning mist that nurtures the unique rainforest ecosystem surrounding Vic Falls.
Embark on a 4WD safari in Kruger National Park, where you'll track Africa’s legendary animals through breathtaking landscapes teeming with wildlife.
Experience the thrill of spotting majestic elephants, elusive leopards, and powerful lions, all from the comfort of your open-air vehicle on a safari through Hwange National Park.
Is this trip right for you?
This is an overland trip. That means you’ll be travelling with a group in a purpose-built vehicle, visiting remote communities, setting up your own tent, occasionally roughing it in the bush with no facilities, and getting the best possible views of Africa's iconic wildlife. While the trucks don’t have air conditioning, they do have sliding windows, which let in the breeze and make it even easier to take spectacular snaps of the local wildlife. The drive days can be long, but it’s as much about the journey as the destination, and half the fun is the camaraderie. For more info on this style of travel, see our Africa overland page:  https://www.tuuur.com/africa/overland https://www.tuuur.com/africa/overland (https://www.tuuur.com/africa/overland)
The African wild comes alive at sunrise, so there will be some early starts for game drives. The thrill of spotting your first lion or rhino is well worth the early start!

Important notes
1. A single supplement is available if you’d prefer not to share a room on this trip. The single supplement applies to all nights of your trip and is subject to availability. Please speak to your booking agent for further information.
2. This trip finishes upon arrival in Johannesburg on Day 17. Please do not book any flights until after 10pm this evening.
3. On occasion, especially during the peak months of May to September and December we are not able to secure campsites within the Kruger National Park. In this instance we will camp at a backpackers outside the park.
4. Border crossing delays in the region have been sporadic and difficult to predict. What takes an hour one day may take four hours the next. This may affect the order of activities in the itinerary. We understand this uncertainty can be frustrating, and we strongly recommend packing a bit of patience and flexibility.

If you don’t mind camping and some long drives, this is an excellent trip to explore Southern Africa and see lots in a short amount of time! Definitely do the full 17 days! Highlights include Chobe and Vic Falls!

I loved this trip, was intense and full of experiences. I was scared of the camping amd the big group but it was great the support of the crew is key. The first leg until vic falls was the best. Kruger park also top. A lot of hours of bus, but the final destinations were always spot on.

Overall, I had the best time on this trip! I was amazed by everything we had the opportunity to see. Was lucky enough to see all the big five, among so many other animals. The crew were all friendly, approachable and happy to help. The only downside were the long travel days. However, that was to be expected when travelling such a large distance. If you’re thinking about it… do it do it do it!

Such an amazing experience! This really was the trip of a life time. What really made it was the crew. They made us feel like family and I will never forget Siya, Nolo and Mr. T. It’s such a blessing to of met them. They made me want to explore more of beautiful Africa.

Excellent trip overall with a great crew, and lovely people on the trip itself. Safari and wildlife experiences were amazing, so many opportunities to see wildlife. Be prepared to pay extra for many optional activities (which are still worth, but just be aware). Some issues with itinerary especially regarding the Namibia day with expensive visa which will hopefully be fixed. Very long drive days averaging 6-10 hours daily - I personally enjoyed this but some may not. If you're looking to explore some of Africa, see wildlife, have a chill, easygoing time and be safe and well supported overall, this is the trip for you!

If you want to see the animals Africa has to offer, this is the trip to choose! Saw the Big 5, plus cheetahs and an extraordinary amount of birds. If you go in the Southern Hemisphere winter, be prepared for COLD nights (5C/40F) was not uncommon. I took my own sleeping bag and was very glad about it!
