Trip Informations
Why you’ll love this trip
Prepare yourself for one very memorable night out in the Thar Desert, where you’ll share a feast at sunset and bunk down to camp between the sand dunes under a blanket of desert stars.
Witness one of the Seven Wonders of the World – the Taj Mahal. Take your time here, taking in the majesty of this manmade wonder and learn all there is to know from a local guide.
Visit a local family in Bikaner for a cooking demonstration of regional delights, like chai and chapati. As you get to know the woman and her daughters, you’ll pick up some tips and tricks, try them out for yourself, then sit down for dinner together.
Get an insight into local, rural life at your homestay in Khinwara – life here is slow paced, so this is the perfect chance to stop and take a moment to relax.
See Delhi from a new perspective on a bicycle rickshaw ride through the chaotic streets of this epic city. Take in the beauty of Jama Masjid and rub shoulders with the locals in Sheeshganj Gurudwara, where all are welcome despite religion, caste or gender.
Is this trip right for you?
This trip is built for travellers who like a mix of free time and included activities. As such, there will be loads of opportunities to tailor your trip how you like. Please consider spending money for optional sightseeing (including transport to and from sights) and any activities you want to do.
You’ll cover a lot of distance in this vast country, which involves some long bus and train rides. Sleeper trains are also a great way to travel long distances while still getting maximum time in each place. Beds are padded berths with sheets, pillow and blanket provided (although some people prefer to bring their own sleeping sheet). You may be in the same carriage with locals of the same or opposite gender. For your own security, take a lock for your hand luggage. Absolutely amazing trip and value for money. The past 2 weeks in India have flown by and we’ve experienced and learned so much about Rajasthan and the history of India. All the optional activities were fun, affordable and unique to India. The food was ofcourse 11/10 and every place our guide recommended was a unique experience. Thank you Intrepid and Ruchi for a great 2 weeks!

Great price point for a really enjoyable trip. I thought the duration was neither too short nor too long, with a nice mix of included stuff and free time (which our guide often helped arrange anyway).

Amazing way to experience the chaos of Northern India while being sheltered and safe as a woman. The best part was that our tour leader was also a woman which I loved. The accommodations were far from Basic and I was pleasantly surprised how nice and varied the hotels were. Great experience!

What an amazing trip! This is the best way to gain confidence travelling in India and enjoy some of the best sights. Prerna was an amazing guide and made our group of mostly girls feel so safe and welcome in India. Having done this, I am now desperate to come back and explore more of India!

This was a fantastic introduction to Norther India, made even more fantastic by our incredible tour leader Parul, who made it a truly unforgettable experience. It was exceptionally well organized and a great mix of sightseeing and authentic cultural experiences. It felt far less like a traditional ' tour' and much more like going on an adventure with a group of friends. I would definitely recommend this tour for solo travelers or anyone looking to experience the best parts of Rajasthan and Indian culture in a safe and ethical way (particularly if you are lucky enough to get Parul as your guide!)

This really is the trip of a lifetime! India itself was incredible and you visit so much in a short space of time, but what really made my trip special was were the people. My group was amazing and we got along so well, it was like travelling with 10 old friends! And the best part of all, Parul our tour leader ❤️ if you have her as your leader you are very very lucky and you will have the best time for sure! An amazing person and amazing leader. Thank you Intrepid & thank you Parul!!!

This was an amazing trip, all thanks to Parul, our tour leader. You won’t receive the cultural insights without doing this trip with a local guide. I also felt extremely safe as a female thanks to Parul! Must do experience!!!
