You’ll cover a lot of distance in this vast country, which involves some long bus and train rides. Sleeper trains are also a great way to travel long distances while still getting maximum time in each place. Beds are padded berths with sheets, pillow and blanket provided (although some people prefer to bring their own sleeping sheet). You may be in the same carriage with locals of the same or opposite gender. For your own security, take a lock for your hand luggage. Traveling through Rajasthan with Intrepid was unforgettable, and a huge part of that was thanks to our incredible leader, Vijay. He brought the history, culture, and color of Rajasthan to life with his deep knowledge, warmth, and sense of humor. From navigating chaotic markets to sharing local chai spots and hidden gems, he made every moment feel authentic and personal. His passion for his home state shone through, and it felt like we were exploring with a friend rather than just a guide, which made the whole journey so much richer and more memorable. Thankyou Vijay!

Any hesitations melt away with an Intrepid trip! My experience of India was safe, enriching, and so fun. My first group trip ever after solo travelling was better than expected, like minded people, ethical, and led by the exemplary Vijay! I will absolutely use Intrepid again.

The Real Rajasthan tour takes you to a variety of places, all with different landscapes, food and crafts making each day different and exciting. Especially for shopping! Visiting the thar desert and Khinwara homestay allows you to explore local village life and culture. Vijay our leader made the whole experience easy, safe and so much fun even with the chaotic trains and busy Delhi streets.

This trip was an incredible introduction to India & it has given me the confidence and knowledge to return to India. Abhimanyu Palwa is an incredible guide and will help you find additional activities to suit your passions and interests e.g. safe parks for running solo as a female in each destination.
