Camping in the Serengeti means, well, camping in the Serengeti. No barriers between you and mother nature means there's no fence between you and the animals. We take safety seriously and your leader will brief you in detail on how to set up camp so as to deter animals from entering the camp.

This is an overland trip. That means you’ll be travelling with a group in a purpose-built vehicle, visiting remote communities, setting up your own tent, occasionally roughing it in the bush with no facilities, waking up before sunrise and getting the best possible views of the ‘Big Five’. While the trucks don’t have air conditioning, they do have sliding windows which let in the breeze and make it even easier to take spectacular snaps of the local wildlife. The drive days can be long, but it’s as much about the journey as the destination, and half the fun is the camaraderie. The section of this trip that takes place in Zanzibar is unescorted. This unforgettable adventure was a truly extraordinary experience. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking to immerse themselves in the authentic essence of Africa and explore its majestic wildlife in a unique and intimate way. The safari offered a fresh perspective, allowing us to connect with nature and witness the raw beauty of the continent like never before.

I had the best time on our trip through Kenya and Tanzania. We saw so many animals and learnt so much about culture and traditions, as well as how to be a responsible traveller. Cornelius, Caleb and Loyford were amazing crew and made the experience even better! Asante sana!

Amazing trip! Each day was better than the one before! The local guides were so insightful. Recommend the village walk in Mto Wa Mbu - a favorite of our group. Do the Serengeti balloon Safari but don’t book online prior to trip - three of us were charged three separate prices up to $145 more than the actual price at the park.

Overall, an amazing experience! Thanks for Florence - her team - and a group of wonderful (solo-)travellers. In case you're not afraid of adventure, would like to explore new cultures, connect with people and end with some relaxing time at the beach - then this trip is highly recommended! (Part of 20/05/2023 Trip - Group of 5 (solo) travellers).

While the landscapes and animals are amazing to look at the days of driving around are long and tiring. The itinerary is questionable at some point - doing safari for 2 days in a massive truck? - the leadership really lacked in the last leg of the trip. The Zanzibar portion of the trip is a complete rip-off -
Avoid.

Our Serengeti safari fell short of expectations due to an inadequate overland vehicle, limiting animal sightings and comfort during long drives. The itinerary wasn't adhered to, with misleading information about game drives. While the chef David was exceptional, the guide lacked engagement and personality. Better communication, vehicle upgrades, and smaller group sizes could significantly improve the experience.

The camping is fun and the driver and cook were fantastic! The on-the-road part of the tour is incredible! But the Zanzibar part of the trip was not acceptable for a organized group trip. It was not organized and just frustrating - we were forgotten at the airport and had problems to get a driver to drive us from one hotel to another, and the accommodation is infeasible and very dirty.

Overall experience with intrepid was poor. Our trip leader was very unfriendly, unapproachable and quite frankly didn’t want to be on our trip. There were discrepancies between our itinerary and what we experienced. Would not travel with intrepid again
