Ditch your alarm in the spiritual capital of Varanasi – there’s only one way to wake up here and that’s with a sunrise sail along the Ganges. Maybe indulge in some yoga or meditation after and keep the good vibes going.
verified
See the Taj Mahal – one of the famed Seven Wonders of the World. This may be one of the most recognisable buildings on Earth, but do you know its poetic history? Don’t worry, a local expert will fill you in.
verified
Spend some time in rural Tordi, away from the tourist trail, and stay in an 18th-century palace, enjoy a homecooked dinner from your host and explore the nearby ruined temple and fortress.
verified
Fall asleep to the calls of the jungle in Chitwan National Park, then embark on a safari in search of rhinos, deer, monkeys, tigers and a wide array of bird life.
verified
Indulge in Delhi-cious street food and immerse yourself in the colourful chaos of India’s capital city – from chicken tikka to vegetarian curries, your local leader will know all the best lunch and dinner spots.

This trip involves travel on public transport covering large distances, meaning some long travel days. Long-distance and overnight trains can often be delayed and occasionally cancelled due to heavy fog between December and February. Some patience will go a long way towards your enjoyment here. Sit back, relax and watch the scenery go by (a book or podcast won't hurt either).

Weather in India and Nepal can be very hot in summer and surprisingly cold in winter, so please pack accordingly so you aren't caught out! Check seasonal weather guides and pick a travel time that suits your comfort level.

This trip is a great way to see a lot in a short period of time and it can be part of a longer itinerary if you have more time to explore. You might like to check out Epic India to Nepal.
Itinerary
See the Taj Mahal, sleep near the jungle and go wildlife spotting on safari
Head from bustling Delhi to remote Tordi on this 13-day adventure through India and Nepal. Ree was an excellent guide. The trip was amazing, I felt safe the whole time as a single female traveller. Great way to experience India.

A fascinating itinerary and tour that allows you to better see places that can be difficult to go to as a solo traveller. There are a number of long travel days and early starts, but the destinations are excellent. Diversity is seen across this trip with busy cities, a rural village, national park and heritage park. Recommend some extra time in Delhi and Kathmandu if time permits. Accommodation was excellent for a basics trip, though if staying in Delhi prior to the tour, may be better to chose a place in a better location to Hotel Perfect.

As a young female traveler, I would not have felt comfortable to travel these destinations by myself. Having all transport, accommodation and activities organised ensured that my experience was stress-free. There were also many opportunities for personal free time. Some highlights included the hot air balloon in Jaipur, dressing in traditional wear in Tordi, and the jeep safari in Chitwan. I would highly recommend this trip!

If you get Priyanka as your guide, jump with joy. She’s one of the best guides I’ve ever had! Probably the best guide in India!

Great trip, great value. Would not feel safe doing India on my own but had a blast on this trip and am so glad I did it! Make sure you build in time for Katmandu after.

Guide was amazing. I normally prefer to visit countries by myself, but India really is a place where having a local guide is incredibly helpful. If nothing else it saves you a huge amount of research and time.
Food was pretty poor, but a lot of places were chosen for food safety first which I appreciate. Also found it shockingly hard to get any good spicy food.

My trip with Intrepid was amazing, and I wouldn’t hesitate to book another tour with them. Our time in India and Nepal would’ve looked much different if we hadn’t booked with them, and it gave us peace of mind due to their reputation among the tourism industry, and an incredible experience.

Our trip with Jeswin was amazing, India is an often chaotic place and within the environment of the intrepid group and with Jeswin as our guide this felt infinitely easier to navigate. We saw amazing sights, ate amazing food and learned so much about these two countries and their culture and history. I would highly recommend this trip. The value for money is outstanding.
