Is this trip right for you?
verified
This trip covers a lot of ground so be prepared for some long drives. You'll be travelling in a van with a group, so conditions may feel a little cramped. This is all part of the adventure, and friendships form fast in tight quarters.
verified
This is a participatory trip. That’s a fancy way of saying you’re not just along for the ride – you're part of a team! Be prepared to roll up your sleeves and help with camp activities like food prep and washing up.
verified
That teamwork also extends to our optional food kitty of approximately CAD$20 per day to cover the cost of meals. This kitty saves you worrying about where to get food, sales taxes and helps keep your costs down by bulk purchasing items together. If you've got specific dietary requirements, you can opt out and purchase (and cook) your own food.
verified
Snow may remain on the ground in higher elevations until the end of May. This may impact certain activities such as boat trips or mountain hikes, however crowds are much thinner during this time. Your leader will have suggestions for alternative activities no matter the season.
verified
The weather can be unpredictable in the mountains. We advise wearing layers in all seasons, including warmer months as conditions can be cold.
verified
Mosquitoes are most active during summer months and wetter seasons. To protect yourself, use insect repellent. Wear long-sleeved, light-coloured clothing especially during dawn and dusk when mosquitoes are most active.
verified
To ensure you to get the most out of this trip, we recommend you are moderately fit. The hikes are a real highlight and give you access to some fantastic scenery.
Itinerary
Take an adventure of a lifetime through the Canadian Rockies
Ready to take a hike? You’ve come to the right place. Canada is home to some of the finest trails in North America, and your fellow solo hikers are waiting. This 13-day adventure will have you tackling paths that coil around mountains and snake through inland rainforests, plus enjoying views of massive glaciers and snow-covered peaks in the Canadian Rockies. Combine active adventures with spotting wildlife, munching maple-flavoured everything (cookies, donuts, bacon – you name it) and stargazing with your new friends. This is the perfect introduction to Canada’s iconic mountain range.

Me and my partner loved our trip to the Rockies. Living and camping so close with the lovely group of people we met was amazing, and we made so many memories (and friends) that we will cherish for a long time. Our guide Mathieu was fantastic, and helped us fall in love with all the Rockies. I cannot recommend this trip enough.

This trip is absolutely incredible, I would recommend to anyone who wants to see such a beautiful part of the world. You see and do so much, and our amazing tour leader Ro was the most kind, approachable and funny guide (and an amazing chef!!). I would stay there forever if I could!

Ro was my guide and she was just amazing. So friendly, accomodating and hard working. Wouldn’t have wanted anyone else.
I saw so many beautiful places and met some lovely people. It was a great way to experience the Rockies.
My only negative note is that the camping gear that intrepid provided could’ve been more comprehensive and comfortable considering the price but it was sufficient.
