Is this trip right for you?
verified
There's one full day of travelling involved (from Ao Nang across the border into Malaysia, then down to Penang). Some travel on this trip is by public transport. This is a great way to mingle with the locals and experience how they travel. And it keeps your carbon footprint down.
verified
Your overnight sleeper train from Bangkok to Surat Thani is an adventure for sure. Be prepared for basic conditions – bunk beds and shared facilities.
verified
Go free and explore! As there is not a heap of inclusions, the resulting free time means flexibility and space for making your own discoveries. This is a great way to travel independently while drawing on the knowledge of local leaders, and keeping your costs down.
verified
This trip is part of a longer itinerary. You might be joining travellers who have already spent some time together. If you have more time to explore, you might like to check out Epic Bangkok to Singapore.
Itinerary
Explore islands, cities and villages from Bangkok to Singapore
From the streets of Bangkok to the waters of Koh Samui, this 15-day trip lets you soak up all the natural beauty and city life highlights of South East Asian gems – Thailand, Maylasia and Singapore. You’ll cycle through rural villages to waterfalls, laze on the palm-fringed beaches of islands and eat your way through Penang. Stay with the locals at a homestay in Phrom Lok and tuck into some delicious home-cooked Thai food. Visit temples, take street food tours and enjoy loads of free time to choose your own adventure with a new group of friends. If this trip was a dish, it would taste like Singapore’s chilli crab – full of spice and flavour, with plenty of time by the sea.

An amazing trip with a balanced itinerary of beaches, islands, forests and cities. It was busy with some long travel days, but at no stage did I feel rushed or overwhelmed. We certainly achieved a lot in the space of only a couple of weeks! Particular thanks to our leader, Oat, who helped the trip run as smoothly as possible and brought a lot of fun, personality and humour to our group dynamic.

Intrepid is a great middle ground of popular tourist attractions and off the beaten track activities. The expert guides share their knowledge and have great recommendations for the group as well as create safety and comfort for the whole crew! It's a great place to let your adventurous spirit fly, meet new people, and get outside your comfort zone!
