In order to see as much as possible in the vast north of India, this trip involves some long travel days. We use a variety of transport to get around, from train to private vehicles and auto-rickshaws. Packing light will make moving around easier!
Don’t underestimate the weather at any time of year in India. In the summer months, heat can be extreme. In winter months, some travellers have been surprised at the cool of the evenings. A hat, sunscreen, and clothing that can be layered will serve you well year-round.

I would recommend Intrepid . The group was small and every aspect of the trip was throughly planned, Plenty of variety and opportunities to opt out of organised events if you wanted. The standard of the hotels was very good and the group leaders exceptional.

A wonderful trip, we felt very safe and looked after at all times. As it was a first trip to India, we got a great introduction to the country and it's culture. Mohsin and Dinesh were exceptional guides and left us wanting to experience more of these type of trips. The accommodation was of a very high standard and the experiences varied and interesting. Couldn't recommend enough!

I have done several trips with Intrepid and this trip through Rajasthan was superb. It covered all the essential sites and was made all the more magical by our exceptional guide Mukendra. He displayed excellent principled leadership skills through his outstanding organisational, interpersonal and intrapersonal skills. Throughout, he established a climate of care and trust making us feel comfortable, valued and heard. Mukendra is clearly a caring, kind and genuine person/Intrepid leader - his leadership style radiates authenticity, compassion, integrity, respect and loyalty. He cares deeply about Intrepid's core vision, mission and values and this was evident in every behaviour, action and word. There were some occasional difficult moments - challenging behaviours and incidents - which Mukendra handled professionally and with patience, calm and good grace every time. He is an asset to Intrepid and should be acknowledged for his leadership, service and commitment. I would travel with Intrepid over and over with tour leaders such Mukendra.
