Trip Informations
Set off on an in-depth exploration of Tanzania’s natural wonders on this eight-day Premium adventure. Take a front-row seat to soak in the magnificent landscapes and wildlife of Tarangire National Park, stop for a picnic lunch on the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater and explore Serengeti National Park on an exciting series of 4WD game drives. Relax at your Feature Stay in Serengeti, explore the national reserve’s plains with a local guide who grew up on the land and look for roaming wildlife like elephants, zebras and hippos every step of the way. Dine beneath the stars, sip drinks at sunset and fall asleep to the sounds of East Africa.
Why you’ll love this trip
Spend two nights at your Feature Stay in the Serengeti, near excellent big cat viewing in the Seronera Valley. Soak in the swimming pool and take in sweeping 360-degree views across the plains from your hilltop perch.
Seek out the best wildlife-viewing experiences on morning and afternoon 4WD game drives through Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area and Serengeti National Park. Look out for zebras, elephants, lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, hippos and more!
Venture through the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Ngorongoro Crater in an open-top 4WD. Look for roaming wildlife like hyenas and hippos, and stop for a bush picnic lunch on the crater floor.
Visit the Pastoral Women’s Council in Makuyuni, learning how local women gain income and independence with their intricate Maasai beadwork, and partake in some village traditions.
Learn about local life as you wander through a farmer’s market and taste local seasonal fruits in the Ngorongoro Highlands. Then, discover the coffee production process on a guided tour of the Karatu highlands.
Is this trip right for you?
Purpose-built 4WDs are used for the duration of the trip. This itinerary features some long travel days, which can be exacerbated by bumpy African roads. It is recommended that you pay close attention to the approximate driving time.
As the early bird catches the worm, the early camper sights the animals. There will be many early starts, either to make use of the better safari time or to beat the morning traffic on long travel days.
