Why you’ll love this trip
Spend a night surrounded by nature in the Amazon rainforest in a private thatched cabana – your Feature Stay, located in the heart of a 380 hectare-private ecological reserve with a team of expert on-site guides.
Take your taste buds on a trip from the market stalls of Lima to a traditional Andean lunch in the Sacred Valley.
See some unbeatable views of the Andes as you travel towards Machu Picchu on a 360 train, offering high domed windows and an open-air observation carriage to immerse yourself in the incredible landscape.
Visit one of the Seven Wonders of the World, Machu Picchu, on not one but two visits in the afternoon and the early morning, to see all that you can at this incredible feat of Inca engineering!
Experience the country’s best sights, including an unforgettable day of wildlife activities in the Amazon Jungle.
Is this trip right for you?
This trip spends time at altitude; you should refer to the Medical & Health Information for this trip to understand the risks.
This trip visits Peru's coast, mountains and the Amazon Jungle, which means you'll need a flexible wardrobe no matter what time of year you travel. Please review the 'Climate and seasonal information' and 'Packing' sections of the Essential Trip Information.
Visitors are not permitted to explore Machu Picchu without a Machu Picchu guide (not our trip leaders) and must follow set routes within the site. This trip includes two guided visits of Machu Picchu and each visit is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours long. Your leader will provide more information to ensure you get the most out of your visits to this incredible site.
According to Machu Picchu visiting regulations all visitors to Machu Picchu must follow a pre-determined circuit within the site as a way to relieve crowding. The circuit-based entrance tickets are available on a first come first serve basis. We will do all that is possible to get everyone traveling in a group on the same route, but be aware that it is possible that members of the same group might be visiting Machu Picchu on a different circuit and not be together during this visit. Once the guided visit concludes, visitors must exit the site and personal exploration of Machu Picchu is not permitted.

Fabulous experience which exposed me a whole continent of civilisations going back to more than 5000 bc and which I was totally unaware of before. Also the geography and regions of Peru are quite fascinating and different to australia

I had a wonderful time traveling Peru with Luis. He shared with us his extensive knowledge and love for the culture and his heritage. He made our experience very personable, and we quickly felt like family. Aside from the obvious Machu Picchu and the jungle stay, my highlight was the Willoq community and supporting local communities. This was truly heartwarming. Also want to mention how organized and diligent Luis is with booking tickets, transportation and check-ins behind the scene so that we can focus on enjoying the moment. This destination is a dream come true for me and Luis made it wonderful - thank you from the bottom of my heart :)

Had a great trip from start to finish, led by our wonderful guide Holger (Olly)! As a solo traveller, I always appreciate how seamless and safe these trips feel. The itinerary was a fantastic way to experience Peru’s food, culture, and of course, Machu Picchu. This was my third Premium trip with Intrepid and definitely won’t be my last!

Booking Premium Peru I was nervous as a single older traveller. Nothing to worry about! With William as our tour leader he supported and encouraged me all through the tour. Highlight for me was the Amazon Jungle animal sightings and then two Macchu Picchu visits which I couldn't find with anyone else. Intrepid you were great!
