Is this trip right for you?
Pickpocketing can be an issue in Athens, especially on public transport. If you keep your valuables concealed and secure while travelling on the metro or bus, you should have no problems.
Summer temperatures in Greece can reach up to 40°C, so you'll need to be able to cope with the heat if you're visiting during the warmer months. Please consider the time of year and your suitability for visiting during that season.
Itinerary
Explore the historic icons from Athens to Olympia and get an authentic taste of Greek culture
Much like baklava, Greece is layered with history so rich that the only way to do it justice is with a knowledgeable local leader. Travelling from Athens to the Meteora Mountains and back along the coast, you’ll learn how Meteora’s hanging monasteries protected modern Hellenic culture from invading Turks, uncover the stories of the Oracle of Delphi and explore the site of the first Olympics. With Exclusive Experiences – like visiting beekeepers to discover the secrets of Greek honey – and a Feature Stay in a traditional stone mansion, this well-rounded adventure brings Greece’s past and present to life.

The varied itinerary provided such a wonderful mix of historical, cultural and environmental exposure. Our guide, Nasos, was the epitome of a true independent Greek , who offered thought provoking presentations on the role Greece has played in mankind’s democratic roots.

The tour was an 8 day immersion in the culture and history of Greece. We experienced everything from traditional cuisine to ouzo tasting all while learning about the history and culture of Greece including ancient myths to modern revolutions. Rugged mountains, turquoise waters and hilltop monasteries inspired a new love of all things Greek. A truly remarkable eight days that I will never forget.
