The trip covers a fair amount of ground with experiencing a variety of transports, so be prepared for some long journeys. And we suggest packing relatively lightly for this trip, as you’ll need to be able to comfortably carry your own luggage onto and off the trains.

China’s world-class sites and experiences draw large numbers of local and international travellers. We recommend a little patience and comfortable shoes as you may need to wait before entering the more popular locations on your itinerary.

This was a very interesting and enjoyable trip with an excellent group leader; Alan. We had a group of 11 and while all members were great to work with, some found the amount of walking quite challenging. I would recommend this trip to all ages, however you need to be prepared to endure long days. People who have injuries or problems with their hips, legs or backs may find this kind of trip difficult. We are 67 and 63 years old and are in reasonably good shape which made our experience very positive.

Intrepid lived up to expectation again with their Premium China Tour.
China is an amazing country to visit and Intrepid picked both city and rural places of interest to provide a balanced view of the destination. The accommodation was outstanding with heritage, modern, traditional, and resort style hotels. We visited locations that were off the beaten track and avoided crowds. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly.
Highly recommended.

We had an excellent Premium China trip and enjoyed the highlights of iconic destinations, city walks and village experiences. Some long walking days were compensated by the excellent accommodation. Would thoroughly recommend this trip for active (seniors) who can walk most of a day.Thank you to Intrepid for an excellent tour. Giorgio Adelaide

This trip was more than I expected and opened my eyes to modern China. It was adventure travel but not barebones. Accommodations were good to excellent but not over the top. Travel from destination to destination while sometimes long was as efficient as possible and allowed us to see more of China. Small group size allowed us to get to know our fellow travelers and to be flexible on the optional activities that we did. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone who wants more than a superficial trip to China even though one can only see so much and security is very tight. One used their passport for many of the activities! All in all good value.
