verified
Due to the high altitude of the places we visit some people can suffer altitude sickness, regardless of age, gender or fitness. It even happened to Sir Edmund Hillary! Please see the ‘Medical and Health Information’ section of the Essential Trip Information for more details.
verified
The hike to Tiger’s Nest can be strenuous. The trek can take up to 5 hours and reach an altitude of 3120 m.
verified
In Bhutan short distances can take much longer due to small, narrow roads and mountain passes. Motion sickness can be an issue on longer driving days on windy roads.

Definitely a trip of a lifetime. If you are considering it, then do it. You will never be disappointed by the beauty, generosity, kindness & spirituality of this country. So happy to feel 100% safe at all times and to feel so grateful at the end of the day to see/be exposed to the Bhutan culture & people. Truly amazing.

Bhutan is definitely worth exploring. The culture is unique. The architecture of the different temples as well as Zhongs are so beautiful. Top it of with stunning mountains and valleys as well as local hospitality at every corner and you have an experience you never will forget.

A wonderful trip in Bhutan, land of the thunder dragon, with a mix of cultural activities and some moderate walking. We were in good hands with guide Bijay and driver Dorji and learnt a lot about this beautiful country. Bhutan is intriguing and we could have spent longer there.

Bhutan is a beautiful, serene country. The trip provided a great introduction to Bhutan, from impressive dzongs, stunning countryside, to beautiful temples, monasteries and nunneries. And of course Tiger’s Nest was one of (many) highlights. Our guide Sangay was exceptional, sharing his knowledge with much passion and a great sense of humour. In particular his knowledge of Buddhism was very insightful, and I have retuned from this trip feeling rather more zen. Our driver Yoda was also excellent, calm and always helpful, and both made sure that each of the group were taken care of.

If your brain needs a holiday as much as your heart wants an adventure, then this is the trip for you. Thank you to Pratap our guide for showing us the present, past and future Bhutan, and to my fellow 'Intrepiders' - I was absolutely fascinated (and had a ball!).
