Is this trip right for you?
Although the climate in all three countries is relatively mild, the temperatures in high-altitude mountain regions (over 2000 m) can be much lower.
This itinerary is densely packed, so you'll be busy squeezing in as many sights and activities as you can. Take the downtime when you can for relaxing or independent exploration.
On some days, there is a lot of walking between sites and around towns and cities, so make sure you bring comfortable walking shoes with good support.
There are some long travel days on this adventure. This is a great opportunity to get to know your fellow travellers and enjoy the passing scenery. Some activities, including the trip to the high Caucasus around Kazbegi, are weather and road condition dependent. Your leader will keep you up to date on any necessary itinerary changes due to local conditions.

I highly recommend this trip, it really opened my eyes to so much history and amazing human stories and experiences. The trip was well run and we had passionate local guides who made it so interesting. Our Tour Leader, Yulia, was so organised and knowledgeable, she helped with any information we needed. Also loved that we had good amounts of free time.

My exciting exploration through Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Armenia offered a rich cultural tapestry. From the modern and historic cities that blend history, modern, high tech, and so safe. From Georgia’s stunning mountainous landscapes and ancient wine regions, and Armenia’s spiritual monasteries and struggles. All have a Soviet-era legacy but leverage that differently. This journey reveals diverse history, welcoming locals, and breathtaking scenery across the South Caucasus

Fantastic way to experience this region, which for millennia has played a central role in history and trade. The trip was professionally managed from the time of booking throughout the entire itinerary. And we couldn’t imagine a better guide than Pavel. Amazing depth of knowledge, great communicator, very personable and organized.

Went with Intrepid for our 46th wedding anniversary trip to Caucasus. We covered 3 countries with Intrepid during this trip. The guide was INCREDIBLE and the trip was safe and organized. The tour group was small enough to enjoy with others and meet a great group of people. It exposed us to the cultural, social, geographical and historical landmarks and was the most educational and inspiring trip in decades. Truly an amazing experience. Can't wait for the next adventure!

The trip to the Caucasus was excellent. All three countries--Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia--are surprisingly wonderful. It was a thrill to walk along the Caspian Sea, to enter the spectacular high Caucasus. Our leader, Ksenia, made every aspect of the trip better.
