Why you’ll love this trip
The choice is yours on the way to Machu Picchu – test yourself on the challenging Classic Inca or Inca Quarry trails, or take the train for a more leisurely experience. Then, marvel at the incredible Inca citadel of Machu Picchu with a guided tour around the ruins of temples, palaces and living quarters.
Experience the wild world of the Amazon rainforest. Stroll along jungle trails on the lookout for monkeys, parrots, otters and caiman, and sleep in a nature lodge lit by candles and kerosene lamps.
Treat yourself at a local restaurant in the Sacred Valley that’s empowering community growth and providing job opportunities and training for single mothers from the region.
Enjoy a day out on tranquil Lake Titicaca, the world’s highest navigable body of water, and explore the floating islands crafted by the indigenous Uru locals.
Get to know the locals of a local community in the Sacred Valley, learn from them, and discover their ancestral textile techniques
At Tuuur we’ve always been about balancing profit and purpose and as the largest B Corp certified operator on the Inca Trail we’re committed to operating our treks for the benefit of all – join us and help make the world a better place.
Is this trip right for you?
This is trip spends time at altitude; you should refer to the Medical & Health Information for this trip to understand the risks.
The Amazon Jungle can be very hot and humid, so it's important to drink plenty of water and wear light cotton clothing. Make sure you also bring tropical-strength insect repellent.
Visitors are not permitted to explore Machu Picchu without a Machu Picchu guide (not our trip leaders) and must follow set routes within the site. This trip includes one guided visit of Machu Picchu (approximately 1.5 - 2 hours). Your leader will provide more information to ensure you get the most out of your visit to this incredible site.
If you choose to trek the Inca Trail or Quarry Trail there'll be strenuous hiking and you’ll be camping with basic facilities during the hiking section of the itinerary. This option is recommended for those with a good level of fitness. See the ‘Packing’ section of the Essential Trip Information for more detail on specific clothing and equipment requirements.
Travellers who choose different ways of reaching Machu Picchu (Inca Trail, Quarry Trail or Train), will not follow the same routes within Machu Picchu. This means that you may not be able to have photos together, overlooking Machu Picchu. This applies to travellers on the same booking or separate bookings.
As you can choose different ways of reaching Machu Picchu (Inca Trail, Quarry Trail or Train) it is possible you will be the only traveller on your selected option. An Tuuur leader or local guide is assigned to and accompanies travellers on each option.
According to Machu Picchu visiting regulations all visitors to Machu Picchu must follow a pre-determined circuit within the site as a way to relieve crowding. The circuit-based entrance tickets are available on a first come first serve basis. We will do all that is possible to get everyone traveling in a group on the same route, but be aware that it is possible that members of the same group might be visiting Machu Picchu on a different circuit and not be together during this visit. Once the guided visit concludes, visitors must exit the site and personal exploration of Machu Picchu is not permitted.

I just completed Peruvian pathways in Peru. The trip exceeded all expectations. The destinations we received were all well thought out and relevant to a trip to Peru. The Inca Trail and Machu Picchu were highlights, and the local Guide on the Trail, Ronald, was just fantastic. Our group leader throughout the trip Ernestina (Tina) was enthusiastic, energetic, knowledgeable and passionate about her work and was always happy and smiling and really made the trip a memorable one for everyone. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone who wants to explore Peru for two weeks and do the Inc Trail as well.

My family and I did the full Peruvian Pathways and overall it was excellent. While I'd like to think I could organise my own trip and may have done so in my youth there's no way I could have done a better job for the cost and time I put.
