Trip Informations
Why you’ll love this trip
Colonial facades, Spanish houses, endless culture and delicious cuisine during your free time in the Peruvian capital.
Take the opportunity to board a scenic flight over the Nazca Lines – whether they’re the work of ancient civilizations or something more supernatural, it’s an incredible experience.
Trek the Inca Trail, the Quarry Trail or take the scenic train route, no matter how you get there, the ancient ruins of Machu Picchu are a majestic destination.
Explore Cusco, South America's oldest continuously inhabited city, with its ancient foundations and interesting blend of Inca and colonial influences.
Experience the untouched world of the Amazon rainforest. Stroll along jungle trails on the lookout for monkeys, parrots, otters and caimans.
Whether you trek the Inca Trail, Inca Quarry Trail or take the scenic train route, you'll be travelling responsibly with a company that cares about balancing profit and purpose. Tuuur is the largest B Corp certified operator on the Inca Trail and we’re committed to operating our treks for the benefit of all.
Is this trip right for you?
This trip visits places that are at high altitude, and as a result some people can suffer from altitude sickness, regardless of age or physical health. Please see the Medical and health information section of the Essential Trip Information for more detail.
This trip involves a lot of walking to see the sites, and if you trek the Inca Trail or Quarry Trail, there'll be strenuous hiking. The trip is recommended for those with a good level of fitness. Please bring comfortable footwear suitable to hiking. See the ‘Packing’ section of the Essential Trip Information for more detail.
In many locations you'll have very basic accommodation. This includes the two homestays in rural Peru, the Amazon eco-lodge and camping along the Inca Trail or Quarry Trail (if you do either of these options). There'll be no power in these places, some won't have showers or hot water.
Temperatures in the Amazon can fluctuate from daytime humidity to night-time chill. Insects, especially mosquitoes, are common. We recommend tropical-strength insect repellent and light cotton clothing that covers your arms and legs, with warmer layers for the evening.
According to Machu Picchu visiting regulations all visitors to Machu Picchu must follow a pre-determined circuit within the site as a way to relieve crowding. The circuit-based entrance tickets are available on a first come first serve basis. We will do all that is possible to get everyone traveling in a group on the same route, but be aware that it is possible that members of the same group might be visiting Machu Picchu on a different circuit and not be together during this visit. Once the guided visit concludes, visitors must exit the site and personal exploration of Machu Picchu is not permitted.
Travellers who choose different ways of reaching Machu Picchu (Inca Trail, Quarry Trail or Train), will not follow the same routes within Machu Picchu. This means that you may not be able to have photos together, overlooking Machu Picchu. This applies to travellers on the same booking or separate bookings.
Can't decide which trek is for you? Fantastic trip. Peru is a wonderful country and you see it from every angle - coast, desert, mountains and jungle. The Inca trail 4 day hike is fairly challenging so be prepared. There are so many memorable experiences along the way and all the guides are fantastic and you feel very well looked after. It really is a trip of a lifetime. Highly recommend.

Peru Encompassed was the perfect mix of physical activity, culture, wildlife, and diversity of locales and food throughout the country. I would add it to my bucket list immediately if not sooner.

Peru Encompassed opened us up to the beauty and diversity of the landscapes of Peru, and its people and cultures. Intrepid, and our guide Holger brought the country to life for us. There's a lot of travel, but with lots to see and take in on the way, none of it felt long. The food is fantastic and Holger helped open us up to the temptations of Peruvian cuisine. Small group size (10) worked well. Accommodation was comfortable, including the homestay. Am recommending to friends.

The Peru encompassed tour is a great way to see the key sites of Peru where you would have no change of organizing this independently.

Peru is a brilliant country full of rich culture and amazing people. This trip was full of lifetime experiences from flying over the NASCAR lines to sand buggies in the desert to Machu Picchu. If you want to understand the history of the Inca people and explore the modern day warm atmosphere of the Peruvian people, do this trip. You won’t regret it. Our tour leader Giscard was outstanding and passionate to share his knowledge of his country, which allowed me to fully understand and appreciate the Peruvian culture. Definitely recommend!!!
