Is this trip right for you?
verified
No two journeys in Africa are identical. Be prepared for travel times to be longer or shorter than advised. Weather and road conditions can change things significantly, so embrace the detours, shortcuts and unforgettable moments along the way.
verified
This is an overland trip. That means you’ll be travelling with a group in a purpose-built vehicle, visiting remote communities, setting up your own tent, occasionally roughing it in the bush with no facilities, and getting the best possible views of Africa's iconic wildlife. While the trucks don’t have air conditioning, they do have sliding windows, which let in the breeze and make it even easier to take better snaps of the local wildlife. The drive days can be long, but it’s as much about the journey as the destination, and half the fun is the camaraderie. There will be many early starts, either to make use of the better safari time or to beat the morning traffic on long travel days. Camping out in the amazing Okavango wilderness means digging a bush toilet and going without a shower. It's all part of the delta experience.

The day-to-day itinerary features a selection of optional activities. Please note that this list is not exhaustive and is intended only as a guide. Prices are approximate and may change at the discretion of the local provider, and all activities are subject to availability.

Loved this trip! Seeing elephants, lions, hippos, ostriches, giraffes, so many birds, etc up close was sacred, but the people made the trip perfect. Excellent staff! Worth every penny and moment.

Great trip. There are very early mornings and a lot of riding, but that can be expected when travelling long distances in Africa. The sights we saw and the people we shared those with were spectacular.

Loved every minute of this trip and would recommend it to anyone wanting to see Southern Africa. The bus takes away the stress of organising whisky being able to watch the world go by and relax. Food was amazing and camping comfy. Lots of early mornings and long bus rides but well worth it.

We wore well fed by our chef , well informed by our guide and safely driven around by our driver.
Ricardo, our chef, Thomas our driver and our lovely guide Patience make an amazing team. We have encountered lots of wildlife, descovered beautiful landscapes and met with wonderful people. Africa is beautiful!

The long travel days and early starts are by far outweighed by the sights, sounds, landscapes, camaraderie, the crew and last but not least experiencing living with the locals.

An amazing trip, expertly run by a fantastic guide, chef and driver. The environment and safety were clearly well considered throughout. Our guides’ local knowledge of the wildlife and surrounding areas was outstanding. A true life experience, made even better by a wonderful group. Highly recommend!

This trip was exactly what I needed. From late-night campfire conversations with the incredible Intrepid crew to unforgettable game drives with new friends, this experience reignited my love for trying new things and embracing different ways of life.
While this is definitely not a glamping experience, you'll be incredibly well cared for every step of the way. In return, you'll witness breathtaking landscapes, incredible wildlife, and moments you'll likely never experience anywhere else.
I'm so grateful for this adventure, the people I met, and the memories I made. Africa has left a lasting impression on me, and I can't wait to return.

This trip was amazing our guide, facilities and what we saw just blew me away. A trip of a life time. We saw Elephants, giraffe, lion, baboon, hippo, crocodile, Cheetah, plus many more. You MUST bring a head torch and I brought an insulated coffee cup which was great on the bus. If you are thinking about this trip don’t think any longer just do it.
