Is this trip right for you?

No two journeys in Africa are identical. Be prepared for travel times to be longer or shorter than advised. Weather and road conditions can change things significantly, so embrace the detours, shortcuts, and unforgettable moments along the way.

This is an overland trip. That means you’ll be travelling with a group in a purpose-built vehicle, visiting remote communities, occasionally roughing it in the bush with no facilities and getting the best possible views of the Big Five. While the trucks don’t have air conditioning, they do have sliding windows, which let in the breeze and make it even easier to take spectacular snaps of the local wildlife. The drive days can be long, but it’s as much about the journey as the destination, and half the fun is the camaraderie. Camping out in the amazing Okavango wilderness means digging a bush toilet and going without a shower. It's all part of the delta experience.
verified
The day-to-day itinerary features a selection of optional activities. Please note that this list is not exhaustive and is intended only as a guide. Prices are approximate and may change at the discretion of the local provider, and all activities are subject to availability.
verified
There will be many early starts either to make use of the better safari time or to beat the morning traffic on long travel days.
verified
You will need a reasonable level of fitness for the cycle tour in Soweto, as the town isn't totally flat.

Wonderful trip . We saw amazing sights and animals. Our guide Sandile, driver Shadreck and beautiful cook Samkelo went above and beyond to keep us safe and comfortable , informed and well fed. We wild camped , all the equipment was excellent and well cared for . Our like minded fellow travellers also contributed to making it a very memorable trip. I cannot wait for the next .

This trip was an eye-opener for me. We covered a lot of territory, saw some amazing wildlife and had wonderful camping experiences. Of course, the Okavango Delta was a highlight, but I did not expect to get so close to so many animals in their native habitat. I am not a camper, but really enjoyed the varied camping experiences.

I loved every minute of our Okavango and beyond tour. Our leader Sandile was the perfect trip lead, Somkello created magical food and Shadreck drove us safely across Zimbabwe, Botswana and South Africa. The Okavango delta is something I will remember forever! I am going to go home and book another intrepid trip straight away.

Excellent trip, much to see and do. Wonderful staff gave us a fantastic experience. At 71, I found it physically a bit demanding, but so worth the effort. And getting through the demands is part of the thrill!

Highly recommended once-in-a-lifetime experience. Got to see so many African animals up front and experience real African life and culture. Be close to nature in the Okavango Delta and also see the vibrant life in Soweto.
