Why you’ll love this trip
Ride the scenic Flam railway to Myrdal, then hop on a bike to cycle downhill back to Flam past small farms, waterfalls and glacial streams.
Spend a full day kayaking on the glassy waters of Naeroyfjord, surrounded by mountains, taking time to explore hidden coves and looking out for wildlife like seals and porpoises.
Stay in cosy cabins like the locals do, immersing yourself in the landscape.
Discover the turquoise postcard-perfect Lake Lovatnet on a bike, winding your way along its shores on the many trails with views of the lake and surrounding Jostedalsbreen National Park.
Hike to Briksdal glacier for an unforgettable journey through pristine wilderness where you'll stand face-to-face with a living piece of the Ice Age in the heart of Jostedalsbreen National Park.
Is this trip right for you?
This multi-active trip requires a good level of fitness due to the varied terrain. Many of the hiking days involve steep hills. Walking times vary between three and six hours a day, but the rewards are worth every step.
Weather in the Norwegian fjords during the summer is typically mild but highly variable. The key is layering and being prepared for rapid weather changes – you might start hiking in warm sunshine and encounter rain, wind, or cooler temperatures at higher elevations. Waterproof hiking shoes and raingear are a must.
Norway can be an expensive destination in many ways, from museum entrance fees to optional activities, but especially in terms of eating out. Your leader will be able to advise on how to have the best value holiday in Scandinavia.

Itinerary
Hike, bike and kayak the stunning Norwegian fjord regions
Embrace the spirit of ‘friluftsliv’ (Norway’s beloved outdoor lifestyle) on this immersive week-long adventure hiking, biking and kayaking through fjord country. Take the world-famous Flam railway, then cycle beside glacial streams, goat farms and waterfalls. Spend a day paddling the glassy waters of Naeroyfjord in the UNESCO World Heritage park, exploring corners that only tiny boats can access. Then, hike in the mountains from small villages to viewpoints high above the fjords for some time away from the crowds. Starting and ending in Bergen, where world-class restaurants and a walkable historic wharf awaits, you’ll experience Norway just as the locals do – spending nights in cosy cabins and indulging in locally sourced food from the fjords and surrounding farms.
