Trip Informations
The northern nooks and regal Republic – see it all on this nine-day adventure on both sides of the Irish border. Travel through green pastures, vast lakes, striking cliff faces by day, and by night, head straight to the pub for a Guinness (or two). Visit medieval castles and ancient sites filled with folklore and marvel at the views of Ireland's rugged coastline, including the Ring of Kerry, Cliffs of Moher and the Giant's Causeway. While exploring Belfast, Dublin, Derry and Galway, don't forget to gather your travel crew for some pub grub and live music to cap off a trip that hits all the hotspots.
Why you’ll love this trip
verified
Explore Ireland’s natural wonder, the Ring of Kerry, and see farmers in action with a sheep farm visit and herding demonstration.
verified
Scramble around the clustered pillars of Giant's Causeway on your way to Derry and decide for yourself if it’s a natural phenomenon or the work of giants, as legends say.
verified
Take a ferry to the Aran Islands, which have been crafted by centuries of wild winds and smashing waves and visit ruins along the rugged coastline from the Bronze and Iron Age with your local leader.
verified
Learn about Bloody Sunday from those who were directly affected by it on a tour of Derry Bogside. As you walk, you’ll hear the story, retrace parts of the original march and visit places where the dead and wounded fell.
verified
Dive into Dublin's energetic nightlife, where it’ll feel like there’s a pub on every corner. Check out its creative neighbourhoods, brimming with hip bars and trendy eateries and join your fellow travellers for a pint of Guinness (or two!)
Is this trip right for you?
verified
Ireland’s nights are chilly year-round, especially in Autumn/Winter. Pack warm layers, a hat, gloves, scarf, waterproof gear and an umbrella just in case.
verified
Accommodation is twin share, so solo travellers will room with another of the same gender. It's a great chance to connect with like-minded people – but you can opt for the single room supplement if you'd prefer your own space at night.
verified
This trip is quite fast-paced to maximise your time in Ireland. Expect regular orientation walks, which are intensive but essential for exploring. For deeper exploration of Belfast and Dublin, consider arriving early or extending your trip.

Irish warmth, openness, and great craic is just the start for this adventure into Ireland. Add to it stunning landscapes, intense political history, a mandatory pub culture where music and laughter combine perfectly with a pint, and you have a wonderful Irish experience. And never underestimate a sheepdog display!

Wow what an amazing trip. Roisin was the best leader and Iteland was stunning. Thank you for the adventure and can't wait for the next Intrepid trip.
Wouldn't travel with anyone else

A great snapshot of Ireland, with a terrific guide. We saw some amazing sights, my only regret is that we couldn't spend twice as long at each destination! There seemed to be a higher proportion of travel time than in other Intrepid tours I've been on (there was only one non-travel day)

Just finished my first ever solo holiday. So glad I picked Intrepid! We had a wonderful group of people, saw amazing sites through Northern Ireland and Ireland and there are not enough words to describe how amazing our tour leader Daniel was. Amazing knowledge, fabulous itinerary. Looking to book my next tour ASAP

Our Ireland experience with Intrepid was fantastic, as was the case with the many intrepid holidays I have been on. I particularly loved Northern Ireland; Belfast and Derry’s history I really enjoyed and felt I learnt so much. All if Ireland’s scenery was spectacular and I loved it all!!! Would definitely recommend this trip to anyone that enjoys history, walking, the great outdoors and small group travelling.

This trip connects the mind, body, heart, and soul together as it is much more than seeing Ireland. It connects you to Ireland’s history, culture, customs, and people in authentic and genuine ways. Our guide was outstanding! The small group fostered deep connections and friendships. The trip plan provides such a vast and diverse experience; great locations! I leave this trip connected to Ireland and it’s people in a deep and meaningful way!

Incomparable tour leader Roisine Doyle brought stories, music, legend and the land to the forefront of our journey. Small group tour is the best. Highly recommend this fast-paced exploration of Ireland!
