Trip Informations
Why you’ll love this trip
Immerse yourself with the sights and smells of buzzing Delhi as you walk through the colourful markets and bazaars and feast on street chaats (Indian snacks like fried flatbread).
Tick an iconic sight off your list and see the Taj Mahal in the glowing morning light. This UNESCO World Heritage site is one of the Wonders of the World and you’ll see why!
Explore the depths of Ranthambhore National Park – it’s like the Jungle Book has been brought to life! Keep your eyes peeled for gazelle, antelopes and the stealthy Bengal tiger during two game drives.
Discover the traditional and vibrant city of Jaipur on walking tours with your local leader, and see why it’s known as the ‘Pink City’.
Experience a special stay in a 17th-century palace in Alsisar – with its grand courtyards and arcades, you (and the kids!) will feel like royalty.
Is this trip right for you?
This trip involves some long bus and train rides, which can be tiring but offer a quintessential experience of the Indian landscape and people.
We visit several temples on this trip, which requires a certain level of modesty. Please bring clothes that cover the arms and pants/skirts that go past the knees. A light scarf is also a good idea for covering shoulders and arms when it’s hot.
Itinerary

My family and I had an amazing time. Our group leader was fantastic, very knowledgeable about the local area and its history, and we made some lifelong friends along the way.

Fantastic family tour — safe, unforgettable, and full of breathtaking sights. Ajay, our brilliant guide, kept everything running smoothly through a busy itinerary. Accommodation was great (Delhi hotel takes a moment to adjust to). The pace is quick with long travel days, but absolutely worth it — the best trip we’ve ever had!

We had an amazing Intrepid family adventure in India! Ajay, our guide, was very knowledgeable and great with the kids. The palace stay and Bollywood dance class were highlights. Usually preferring independent travel, we found this well-organized, safe, and fun tour stress-free and truly unforgettable as a family.

The most amazing trip! India was breathtaking — rich in cultural immersion, fascinating history, and stunning architecture. The monuments, forts, and especially the palace were mind-blowing. Ajay was an incredible guide and everything ran perfectly. The pace is fast with long travel days, but our kids thrived. Exceptional group and unforgettable family memories.

We completed this tour with our 7 and 10 year old sons, and my parents. India is an intense destination, and I was so glad we chose to travel with Intrepid. We really felt like we got to see authentic India, but in a safe and manageable way. We met some like minded families, and between busy sensory overload travel experiences, the kids loved swimming at the pool together, flying kites on the rooftops in Jaipur, and playing cricket on the lawn at a historic hotel. I would travel again with Intrepid in a heartbeat.

India is a place I feel needs a tour. Intrepid and Abhi made visiting India possible for our family which would have been impossible alone. We were lucky to have Abhi as a guide. He is very knowledgeable and friendly. Even playing cricket with our teenage boys. We were the only family on the tour so it was especially important to have a good guide. We chose India to introduce our 13M and 16M to the country their father and grandparents come from and visit the magnificent Taj Mahal. Alsisar Mahal was a beautiful property and a nice place to rest after a hectic first part of the trip.

An absolutely fantastic trip that exceeded expectations. I was anxious about sickness and the kids’ exposure to poverty, both of which were more mild than I imagined. Intrepid does a great job balancing seeing the sights and providing pool time for the kiddos.
