Trip Informations
Immerse yourself in the cultures of North Morocco on this eight-day adventure. Wander through the Atlantic port of Tangier and the blue-hued streets of Chefchaouen, learn about your hosts’ culture in the sacred city of Moulay Idriss during a homestay experience and watch the sun bounce over the Roman ruins of Volubilis. Discover the medieval city of Fes and dance in the eternally festive Djemaa el-Fna in Marrakech, where sights and sounds mingle to create a colourful chaos. This trip lets you soak up the extravagant sights of cities and ancient towns alike, featuring the many hidden delights North Morocco has to offer.
Why you’ll love this trip
Experience the local hospitality during your homestay with a charming local family in Moulay Idriss – where you can enjoy a hearty homecooked feast by your host and learn about their culture.
Embrace the Atlantic breeze in the coastal town of Tangier and see the vivid blue hues of Chefchaouen over sunset, while you explore the houses and laneways of this surreal city.
See the impressive Roman ruins of Volubilis, which rise from the Jebel Zerhoun Plain, and get lost in the charm of the zigzagging lanes in the once imperial capital of Meknes.
Relive a medieval past in bustling Fes. While many tourists get lost in the labyrinthine streets of the medina, you'll have a local guide to show you the way.
Explore the sprawling public square of Djemaa el-Fna. Where else would you find drummers, dancers, fortune tellers, jugglers, street food vendors and old medicine men all in one place?
Is this trip right for you?
Ramadan is a month-long festival in Morocco, often in March and April. Travelling during this period can be a rewarding cultural experience, however some regular services may not be available during the daytime, such as restaurants or coffee bars, and occasionally travel can be disrupted by events. Your leader will adjust the itinerary accordingly, but please consider your travel arrangements carefully before booking travel for this period.
The trains can get busy at peak periods, so we’d recommend packing lightly and compactly to make sure you can get on and off the train easily and quickly. You'll need to be able to handle your luggage through busy train stations.

I thoroughly enjoyed my northern Morocco trip with our wonderful guide Fayssal! He went above and beyond to show us northern Morocco and I loved every minute. I would highly recommend it to anyone considering going, and recommend a private tour and a visit to a local hammam!! Thank you Intrepid and Fayssal!

I cannot recommend this tour more, just book it! Mustapha was an amazing team leader - our group was a real mix of ages/preferences and he handled this like an absolute pro. The tour is well paced with a good balance of group activities and free time. I can’t wait to return and explore all the other parts of Morocco.

Fayssal was an exceptional tour leader! His knowledge, organization, and genuine care for everyone made our week in Morocco unforgettable. He shared his country's culture with passion, handled every detail seamlessly, and created a fun, welcoming atmosphere. He's a true credit to Intrepid and I would happily travel with him again.

This tour was a very interesting and well organised introduction to North Morocco. Thoughtful in it’s support for small family run guesthouses and businesses as well as medium sized hotels It’s certainly whetted my interest in exploring other parts of Morocco

I had always been someone who loved traveling, but until this trip, I had never traveled with a tour company before. A close friend and I decided to join this tour from Türkiye. I was already familiar with Intrepid Travel from the corporate world and have always greatly admired its mission and values. However, before joining the tour, I wasn't entirely sure whether those values were genuinely reflected in the travel experience itself. Now, I can confidently say that they absolutely are. We had a truly wonderful journey, thanks both to our fellow travelers and especially to our tour leader, Abdou Aittaleb. We had the opportunity to experience Morocco’s local culture, traditions, values, and cities in a meaningful and authentic way. In addition, we were able to connect with people from different backgrounds, including travelers from Australia and the United States, which made the experience even richer. I think we were also very fortunate because bringing together such a harmonious group of people cannot be easy! I would especially like to thank Abdou for all of his support, understanding, and the cultural insights he shared with us throughout the trip. He helped us notice many subtle nuances of Moroccan life and culture that someone visiting from another country might easily overlook. For my next adventure, I am already considering traveling solo with Intrepid. They have genuinely given me a strong sense of trust and confidence. I wholeheartedly recommend traveling with Intrepid Travel to anyone considering it.

Our Intrepid guide was outstanding. We saw an amazing amount of Morocco and learned so much. Our guide, Ibram, was helpful to everyone and if we had a problem or concern, he was there to fix it. He is a genuine, kind and compassionate person. We all adored him.

A well paced , relaxing yet comprehensive tour of the region. Great accommodation, a chance to taste great food and wine and plenty of opportunities to stretch your legs and chat to locals and see the sights close up. Sensational tour.
