Trip Informations
Why you’ll love this trip
Experience the local hospitality during your homestay with a charming local family in Moulay Idriss – where you can enjoy a hearty homecooked feast by your host and learn about their culture.
Embrace the Atlantic breeze in the coastal town of Tangier and see the vivid blue hues of Chefchaouen over sunset, while you explore the houses and laneways of this surreal city.
See the impressive Roman ruins of Volubilis, which rise from the Jebel Zerhoun Plain, and get lost in the charm of the zigzagging lanes in the once imperial capital of Meknes.
Relive a medieval past in bustling Fes. While many tourists get lost in the labyrinthine streets of the medina, you'll have a local guide to show you the way.
Explore the sprawling public square of Djemaa el-Fna. Where else would you find drummers, dancers, fortune tellers, jugglers, street food vendors and old medicine men all in one place?
Is this trip right for you?
Ramadan is a month-long festival in Morocco, often in March and April. Travelling during this period can be a rewarding cultural experience, however some regular services may not be available during the daytime, such as restaurants or coffee bars, and occasionally travel can be disrupted by events. Your leader will adjust the itinerary accordingly, but please consider your travel arrangements carefully before booking travel for this period.
The trains can get busy at peak periods, so we’d recommend packing lightly and compactly to make sure you can get on and off the train easily and quickly. You'll need to be able to handle your luggage through busy train stations.

Our first organized tour of this type. People in the group jelled quickly so by the end we were the best of friends. Leader Abderrahim was wonderful and exceeded expectations in every way. We will definitely be looking for future tours with Intrepid.

Our Intrepid trip through Northern Morocco was unforgettable thanks to our incredible leader, Zakaria. His warmth, knowledge, and passion brought every destination to life. He cared for everyone in our group, creating a fun, inclusive atmosphere. Intrepid’s organization and Zakaria’s guidance made this adventure truly exceptional—an experience I’ll always treasure.

The Northern Morocco tour was well-organized and a good balance between cultural and geographical immersion. I appreciated the nightly group dinners, the amount of free time, the fascinating local guides, the well-chosen accommodations, and the enthusiasm of our group leader.

I highly recommend Intrepid’s North Morocco Adventure Tour. My personal highlights were picnicking in Tangiers with a view across the Straits of Gibraltar, experiencing the high speed train from Casablanca, staying in the ‘blue city’ of Chefchaouen, being hosted in a family’s home in Moulay Idriss, a wonderful guided visit to the ancient Roman city of Volubis, a very informative guided tour of Fes by a local woman who also gave feminine insights about living in Morocco, and a dash across to bustling Marrakech.

The North Marocco Adventure was a pleasant surprise! I went in open minded or maybe with a bit of prejustice and then really enjoyed myself and my time in the beautiful cities, especially Chefchaoen. Abdul was a great leader and always looking out for all of us.

I recommend this Intrepid trip. Well planned itinerary, some soecial experiences along the way, and just a great way to see some of Morocco. Enjoyed the train rides with locals. Yousef Azdour was an amazing guide. My group was only 5 people plus guide. Made everything more special. .
