Trip Informations
It's time to explore North America’s most northeasterly point, where the dramatic coastline, mighty fjords and wonderful wildlife will take your breath away. With a knowledgeable leader to guide the way, on this eight-day adventure you’ll experience a landscape that has been shaped by the elements over thousands of years, meet with locals and stop into historic towns surrounded by the splendour of Newfoundland’s famous scenery. Watch huge icebergs bob past the town known as ‘The Iceberg Capital of the World' in the spring, go whale watching, and spot puffins at one of North America’s best viewing sites.
Why you’ll love this trip
Marvel at Western Brook Pond, the spectacular, glacier-carved, landlocked fjord in Gros Morne National Park during a scenic boat tour that gets you closer to nature.
Meet locals on a historic walking tour of Trinity and hear about how Gander welcomed thousands of stranded travellers after 9/11.
Take a boat ride through the clear waters surrounding Twillingate, keeping an eye out for whales, seabirds and more.
Watch puffins at Elliston’s renowned viewing site – one of the closest land views you can get in North America.
Admire spectacular coastal scenery and head out to historic lighthouses that mark the easternmost point of Canada.

Another fantastic trip with Intrepid! Newfoundland is such a beautiful and interesting place. Too many highlights to mention all, but Puffins, a lama, National parks and super friendly locals. A jam packed itinerary with our wonderful guide Simon. He was so passionate about sharing his wonderful country with us. We had a great group and had lots of fun. I will definitely be returning again!

What a beautiful trip. In very short time we were able to see so many interesting things. I have to say that whales, puffins and weather cooperate on our trip! Simon was excellent tour leader and he showed us some very small, off beaten track that were very beautiful. Newfoundland is very beautiful and this trip allowed me to see some of its beauty.

I highly recommend this trip. Simon was an excellent guide- very knowledgeable, organized and accommodating to group requests. Newfoundland was even more beautiful than I expected. The boat rides, lighthouses, hikes, and natural beauty on this trip are 100% worth the difficulties in getting to Newfoundland! I would love to go back anytime.
