Experience local life after hiking to your accommodation in a traditional gite (mountain house) in an Amazigh village nestled high in the Atlas Mountains.

Embrace the vibrant souqs, sights, sounds and smells of Marrakech on a walking tour of the medina and visit to Bahia Palace. With your local guide leading the way, you'll uncover all the best spots and learn more about the culture.
By travelling on this trip, you’ll directly support our Tuuur Foundation partner, Education for All. Donations help them support girls in the High Atlas Mountains through secondary school, bringing a generation of women out of the cycle of illiteracy, poverty and early marriage.
Is this trip right for you?
This is a trekking trip. In order to reach the summit of Mount Toubkal, you need to be reasonably fit and healthy. Previous mountain climbing or hiking experience is recommended, but this trip is suitable to those with little experience, too.
The summit of Mt Toubkal is 4167 m (13,671 ft) above sea level. At this height you may experience symptoms of altitude sickness. Please see the Medical and Health Information section of the Essential Trip Information for more information.
In 2025, Ramadan will take place from 1 to 30 March. Travelling during this holy month can be a rewarding cultural experience, however some regular services may not be available during the daytime, such as restaurants or coffee bars, and occasionally travel can be disrupted by events. Your leader will adjust the itinerary accordingly, but please consider your travel arrangements carefully before booking travel for this period.

The trek to Jebel Toubkal was a challenging "just right" experience. Our guide Mohamad did a great job of organizing and leading the trip, was approachable and good-natured, and shared a lot about the local culture and daily life. Logistics were smooth, accommodations and meals were authentic, and an overnight stay at the Refuge du Toubkal is something everyone should experience...once!

Abdellatif is a great guide. The summit although tough is worth every step. Fingers crossed for all future tour attendees that they get equally as amazing weather as we did the while trek and especially at the summit. Stunning 360° views

An incredible trip! An awesome choice if you’re looking for a week long adventure that offers a cultural experience together with a physical challenge. Experiencing the craziness of the souqs in the medina of Marrakech contrasts perfectly with the serenity of trekking in the High Atlas.
