Trip Informations
Join a women’s-only adventure for an unforgettable expedition to the remote and less-travelled reaches of Morocco. Begin in Marrakech, then set off to experience the side of Morocco they don’t tell you about in the guidebooks. Break bread with Amazigh families in remote homes, see how an artist co-op is empowering female rug-weavers in small villages, take in the beauty of the far-flung M’goun Valley over four days of hiking with the region’s first local female guide, and enjoy the singing and dancing of Moroccan women in cultural ceremonies in rural communities.

This trip involves walking from 4 to 7 hours on Day 3 to 6. The walks will lead you through picturesque valleys, but the terrain may be unstable, rocky and hilly. Consider appropriate footwear and necessary clothing, including a warm jacket and raincoat.
verified
You’ll need to bring a 3/4 season sleeping bag on this trip. Even though you’ll be staying in guesthouses and gites, they may not be heated, so a warm sleeping bag is essential.
verified
The village accommodation on this trip is simple and you’ll be sharing rooms with other female travellers. On Day 5 there are two big rooms for the group so you may share your room with up to five other travellers. Bathroom facilities are shared, but you can expect a hot shower each evening.

Our women’s trekking trip in Morocco was unforgettable, led by the amazing Fatimazahra. Her knowledge, warmth, and passion enriched every moment. She shared Morocco’s beauty and candidly discussed the challenges women face, inspiring us with her resilience. A perfect blend of adventure and cultural connection—highly recommended!

Lovely trip, well organised, wonderfully lead by a young female tour leader. loved the Amazigh people who looked after us. Loved being able to drive up into the mountain and then walk in a loop through some fascinating and dramatic countryside and villages. The booking process with Intrepid was super smooth - great communication and support. it was so great hanging out with other women.

This was an extraordinary trip - scenery, food, company, experiences were all off the scale, and I fear no other trip will live up to this one. We could not have hoped for a better trip leader than Fatimazahra, who led with joy, openness, and generosity. Read essential trip information thoroughly and ideally read all reviews, to be sure you’re all set. Be ready for a truly wonderful experience.

It was a truly great trekking trip, walking across villages, hills, mountains, streams in remote areas while experiencing local traditions and cultures. I can’t thank Hanane and Mama Bia enough for their extra care and patience. The trek was quite challenging for me as a total newbie, especially the path during the second half of the third day, but they put forth their best effort to ensure my safety and well-being. I also want to give a shoutout to my fellow travelers for their understanding and support throughout this journey. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I’m glad to have them in this journey.
Thanks to Touda and Mohamed too for preparing delicious food and for walking beside me to ensure my safety while I rode the mule up the mountain 😆

An excellent trip, a good mix of culture and physical activity. I felt fully immersed in the culture in the villages whist feeling comfortable and safe the whole time. Highly recommend if you are looking for a different way to explore a country. I would recommend to tag on a few days either side to properly explore Marrakesh.

This trip needs to be added to the bucket list asap!! I have been on many tours with other companies but this trip takes the cake. It was so well organised, our intrepid guide Hanane was absolutely amazing, Mama Bia our local female guide was so knowledgeable. It was such a wholesome experience being with other women and being welcomed into the local guesthouses. I feel incredibly lucky to have been able to experience this trip! If you’re thinking about booking- just do it!

This trip offers an opportunity to experience the local culture from a woman’s view. I loved the camaraderie and ease we had with each other. Walking through the villages and farmland was wonderful. I loved the music, learning how to make couscous and the beautiful rug weaving. I made memories of a lifetime.
