The Sahara Camp is on the edge of the desert. In 2019, the Moroccan government put measures in place to improve the safety, quality and impact of desert camps, which means that camping inside the Erg Chebbi dunes is no longer possible.

This tour takes you through the breadth and depth of modern Morocco. I feel like I saw every facet of the country, from the metropolitan cities to the deeply rural bush.

Morocco uncovered would not have been the same without our guide Said. He made our journey unforgettable - the Sahara camp was only one of the many highlights of this trip.

I’m a 54 year old female solo traveller and I’ve just finished the trip to Morocco : 13 Day, Explorer, comfort. It was the adventure of a lifetime. I loved every moment of it. The accommodation, food our guide and all the experiences / sights were excellent! If you’re thinking about doing this tour, I definitely recommend it for all ages.
Our group completed the trip this March 2025. It was Ramadan. The only thing you need to be aware of is that there is limited food options at lunchtime due to restaurants being closed, and only three towns were able to offer some wine on the itinery. And it was very expensive!!
I suggest you take some alcohol through duty-free if this is something that is important to you , if not , enjoy all of the delicious flavours of juice and mocktails that we had …which were amazing!

A fantastic trip that immerses you in the diversity of Morocco’s cultures and scenery (from bustling medinas to the Sahara Desert to passing through the snowy Atlas Mountains!). Our leader Manale was fabulous, her warmth and passion for her country and culture were infectious and I learned so much along our journey. We had a unique experience with half of the trip falling in Ramadan, so this made it extra special and increased my appreciation for our hardworking leader, driver, and all the locals who accommodated us along the way.

The Morocco Uncovered tour was a wonderful sampling of many area of Morocco. I loved the country and the frindly people, and I felt very safe everywhere. By necessity there was lots of driving, but it never felt bad thanks to the many breaks. My favorite places were Fez, Chefchaouen (unmissable), Tamalout, Sahara and Marrakech. I learned so much about Moroccan and Berber culture, people, history and religion. With just a few exceptions, the vegetarian food was surprisingly monotous (I think the omnivores felt the same). Most food has little flavor despite the abundance of spices, and vegetables were invariably overcooked. Luckily I am not a foodie!

Just completed the Morocco Uncovered. I can't say enough good things about Intrepid and this trip: from logistics. ground transport, acommdation, meals, opportunities for cultural exchange and insights. The quality of local guides was excellent and a special acknowledgement to our wonderful group leader, Mr. Tariq Hammoudi!
