Trip Informations
Why you’ll love this trip
Explore the dramatic red dunes of the Sahara Desert on a camel’s back, experiencing an unforgettable sunset – then stay under a blanket of North African stars in a desert camp.
Spend time in two of Morocco’s most picturesque towns – the 11th century kasbah of Ait Benhaddou and Chefchaouen, with its striking blue and whitewashed houses, red-tiled roofs and artistic doorways.
Watch the scenery change from desert to oasis in Todra Gorge and Dades Valley. Get active on a hike, learn about life in the oasis and enjoy a delicious home-cooked lunch with Amazigh hosts.
Dive into the culture and history of Morocco – admire the majestic Volubilis ruins, rub shoulders with the locals in the old medina in Fes, and see the museums of Casablanca.
Where else would you find drummers, dancers, fortune tellers, jugglers, street food vendors and old medicine men all in one place? In Marrakech of course, exploring the acclaimed Djemaa el-Fnaa.
Is this trip right for you?
Summer temperatures in Morocco can get very hot (over 40°C). If you're travelling in the warmer months, be sure to wear layers, use sun protection and drink plenty of water. Nights can get quite cold, so warm clothes are essential.
Ramadan is an annual month-long festival, during which travel can be a rewarding cultural experience, however some regular services may not be available during the day, such as restaurants or cafes, and occasionally travel can be disrupted by events. Your leader will adjust the itinerary accordingly, but please consider this when selecting your travel dates. You’ll find dates and further information in the ‘Climate and seasonal information’ section of the Essential Trip Information.
As this trip covers quite a lot of ground there are some long drives. These are excellent opportunities to get to know your fellow travellers, catch up on some reading, or simply appreciate the scenery.
This trip doesn’t spend a lot of time in Marrakech. We highly recommend you plan extra time in this fascinating city if your time allows. Please speak to your booking agent if you are interested in booking additional nights in the city.

Whilst the trip was 'cheap and cheerful' and fast paced at times, it was a diverse and fantastic itinerary, and intrepid was very transparent and supportive. The trip was made infinitely better by our leader Foaud who was friendly, supportive, knowledgeable, and actively displayed a clear love for his work, his country, and his communities. 10/10 would recommend!

Morocco Highlights is a great way to see the best of Morocco in a short amount of time, we covered a lot of ground under the guidance of our wonderful guide Youssef Ezziti. I have fallen in love with Morocco, the food and the people! A highlight was the hike through the Dades Valley and having lunch with a local family, was the best food in the whole trip!

Can't say enough about this Intrepid Trip to Morocco (our first, but won't be our last)! Mbark was the greatest guide and our group got along really well! Trip was well planned out and executed, and day trips and tours were all fantastic. Chefchaouen (the Blue City), The Sahara Desert, Old City of Fes and a day trip to Essaouira (on our own after the tour) were highlights! Thanks for an unforgettable holiday!

The Moroccan highlights tour was very enjoyable and we saw so much that it felt more than the 10 days. Youssef Ezziti was our guide and cannot recommend him enough. His sense of humour had the group come together on the first day.

I just finished a beautiful tour of Morocco. The trip was made easy, with hotels arranged and transportation from city to city taken care of. Youssef Ezziti was the ultimate host, with knowledge, patience, and accommodating everyone’s needs. I recommend any tour led by Youssef and seeing Morocco with Intrepid.

Amazing 10 days to explore many sides of this loveley country. Even there's a lot busdriving between the several destinations, the athmosphere of the different places is it more than worth.

We had a fantastic trip to Morocco. Our guide Rachid was amazing, enjoyable, knowledgeable, caring, understanding and most of all kind at heart. We loved Marrakech City it was very inviting and people so friendly. We enjoyed the train ride from Marrakech to Casablanca it was very interesting to see the different people that were visiting. Met some people from the USA, London UK and from Australia and New Zealand and all taking trains or buses to get around with no problem. We loved the Sahara Desert and had a joyful ride on the Camels they were awesome to look at and we also drove on the sand dunes. In all Morocco is one of my best land trips so far.
