Trip Informations
Experience all the marvels of Morocco on this 10-day adventure. Start in lively Marrakech, experience the bustle of Casablanca and then immerse yourself in the blue hues of Chefchaouen. See ancient history up close at Volubilis’ Roman ruins, step back into the Middle Ages in Fes el Bali and then travel out to the sand dunes of the Sahara Desert. Share lunch with locals after exploring the palm groves and Amazigh villages in Todra Gorge and Dades Valley, then toast the success of your adventure with a rooftop drink.
Why you’ll love this trip
Explore the dramatic red dunes of the Sahara Desert on a camel’s back, experiencing an unforgettable sunset – then stay under a blanket of North African stars in a desert camp.
Spend time in two of Morocco’s most picturesque towns – the 11th century kasbah of Ait Benhaddou and Chefchaouen, with its striking blue and whitewashed houses, red-tiled roofs and artistic doorways.
Watch the scenery change from desert to oasis in Todra Gorge and Dades Valley. Get active on a hike, learn about life in the oasis and enjoy a delicious home-cooked lunch with Amazigh hosts.
Dive into the culture and history of Morocco – admire the majestic Volubilis ruins, rub shoulders with the locals in the old medina in Fes, and see the museums of Casablanca.
Where else would you find drummers, dancers, fortune tellers, jugglers, street food vendors and old medicine men all in one place? In Marrakech of course, exploring the acclaimed Djemaa el-Fnaa.
Is this trip right for you?
Summer temperatures in Morocco can get very hot (over 40°C). If you're travelling in the warmer months, be sure to wear layers, use sun protection and drink plenty of water. Nights can get quite cold, so warm clothes are essential.
Ramadan is an annual month-long festival, during which travel can be a rewarding cultural experience, however some regular services may not be available during the day, such as restaurants or cafes, and occasionally travel can be disrupted by events. Your leader will adjust the itinerary accordingly, but please consider this when selecting your travel dates. You’ll find dates and further information in the ‘Climate and seasonal information’ section of the Essential Trip Information.
As this trip covers quite a lot of ground there are some long drives. These are excellent opportunities to get to know your fellow travellers, catch up on some reading, or simply appreciate the scenery.
This trip doesn’t spend a lot of time in Marrakech. We highly recommend you plan extra time in this fascinating city if your time allows. Please speak to your booking agent if you are interested in booking additional nights in the city.

Our tour guide Mohamed Achahri was the absolute best! Such an amazing ambassador for Intrepid and Morocco. If you are lucky enough to get Mohamed as your tour guide then you are in for an amazing trip.

This trip was everything I was looking for—and more! The fast-paced itinerary covered all the highlights of Morocco, and our guide was kind, knowledgeable, and full of invaluable insights into the country’s history and culture. I felt safe and well taken care of the entire time. Highly recommend for a stress-free, deeply authentic and rich cultural experience.

I really enjoyed my trip with intrepid. I think they pay their workers fairly and try to make the tourism benefit the countries instead of harm them. My tour guide was incredible, and I feel like I got my moneys worth. Not everything was included, so it’s important to budget for that when you sign up for a tour.

Planning a trip can be daunting, booking with Intrepid was easy and a no brainer. We had the most amazing and knowledgeable tour leader, Mohamed, for our Moroccan expedition! Because of him, we will book with Intrepid again in the future. Our driver was also 10/10. Thank you!

Our trip to Morocco was fantastic! We chose to see a lot of the country so there was a lot of driving but we had stops that were interesting along the way. We had wonderful family visits that helped us learn more about this wonderful part of Africa. There was a good balance between time with the guide and the group and our own free time. Intrepid was easy to work with and their trip description was right on target. This is our second trip with intrepid and we will certainly travel with them again.

This was our first group tour and we loved it! We met people from all over the world and of all ages. Lots of laughter and deep discussion, balanced with plenty of quiet time on the van. We were so thankful for our guide to help us navigate local customs and language. We were appreciative not to have to exert the enery on driving in a foreign country. We loved that every day was an adventure!

Fantastic trip overall. You get so much of Morocco that you come away feeling like you have seen the country. Our guide Lahcen was brilliant; he was approachable at all times, helpful, knowledgeable and fun to travel with. Shout out also to Mohamed our driver who’s driving was careful and considerate at all times. The activities were amazing, each day felt even better than the last. We came away with so many favourite days. The Sahara a particular standout, along with lunch with a local Berber family in the Dades Valley. So many wonderful experiences. The only thing I found a bit tricky was the long travel times on a couple of days. If you are tall with long legs, you’re going to struggle a little to be comfortable throughout the bus journey. But overall, this trip is highly recommended.
