Summer temperatures in Morocco can get very hot (over 40°C). If you're travelling in the warmer months, be sure to wear layers, use sun protection and drink plenty of water. Nights can get quite cold, so warm clothes are essential.

Ramadan is an annual month-long festival, during which travel can be a rewarding cultural experience, however some regular services may not be available during the day, such as restaurants or cafes, and occasionally travel can be disrupted by events. Your leader will adjust the itinerary accordingly, but please consider this when selecting your travel dates. You’ll find dates and further information in the ‘Climate and seasonal information’ section of the Essential Trip Information.

As this trip covers quite a lot of ground there are some long drives. These are excellent opportunities to get to know your fellow travellers, catch up on some reading, or simply appreciate the scenery.

This trip doesn’t spend a lot of time in Marrakech. We highly recommend you plan extra time in this fascinating city if your time allows. Please speak to your booking agent if you are interested in booking additional nights in the city.

The Morocco Highlights trip was amazing. So much in a short time. Well organised and safe. Our leader Abdel was young, happy and caring. He was easy to talk to and very knowledgeable. Thanks Abdel for everything! Visiting the women's co-op also very special. Loved the Sahara. Fantastic experience.

This adventure encompasses a fast paced, authentic and thorough introduction to Morocco We were lucky enough to have an exceptional guide in Fouad, He was professional, patient and willingly gave of his time. Fouad had an extensive knowledge, in all aspects of the country, which was delivered with enthusiasm and made the trip an excellent, enjoyable one.
Our safe driver Kamal drove us in comfort and always cheerfully.
The desert and Chefchaouen were favourite stops but the whole trip was memorable. Being part of a group which was good fun and kind also ensured success.

I literally could not recommend Fouad enough. From day one, his communication was clear, warm, and incredibly reassuring. He was so personable and genuinely cared about every single person on the trip. He went above and beyond to make sure everyone was comfortable and happy — constantly checking in to see if anyone had issues and always making every effort to ensure our group had the best possible experience- from spontaneous stops for fresh oranges and dates to organising everything so seamlessly that even the 10-hour drive to the Sahara went by so quickly (filled with lots of singing, fun facts, coffee & mint tea breaks).
He was so organised and literally pre-booked all our dinners, always choosing the amazing, authentic spots — I honestly had some of the best food of my life on this trip. The craziest thing was his AMAZING local connections in Morocco, we were welcomed into beautiful family homes for meals and with hospitality that felt truly genuine. It was clear everywhere we went that Fouad was respected and trusted, and we wouldn’t have had this experience if it wasn’t for him. You could also ask him anything, and he always had an answer and his experience and love for his country shine through in everything he does.
What really stood out was how effortlessly Fouad connected with everyone in the group, across all ages and personalities. What really makes Fouad special is his personality. He’s constantly smiling and never once complained. His energy, enthusiasm, and ability to connect with people genuinely made this tour feel like we were traveling with a close friend. Whether it was spending his free time with us staying up playing cards with the group or just tailoring the trip to exactly what we wanted — including booking a last-minute dinner and show on our final night — he was always one step ahead. Because of him, this trip exceeded my expectations in every possible way, and he’s set the bar very high for any future Intrepid tours.
I would 100% recommend this tour and Fouad to friends and family. And I’d come back to Morocco in a heartbeat if I knew he’d be my guide again.

This trip was unforgettable thanks to our incredible guide Fouad, who brought Morocco to life with insight, humour, and heart. Transport was safe and smooth throughout — especially with Kamel as our calm, kind driver. A perfect balance of highlights and authentic experiences. Highly recommend for anyone wanting the real Morocco.

Morocco is an incredibly beautiful and diverse country with friendly people, delicious food, and a rich history. I feel so fortunate to have been able to experience it with a local, knowledgeable guide (Fouad was exceptional!) and a great group of fellow travellers. There were some long travel days on this trip, yet worthwhile because of the amazing places we visited. Our driver, Abdul, did an excellent job navigating through cities, mountains, and desert. I will definitely consider travelling with Intrepid again.
