Trip Informations
Why you’ll love this trip
Explore the dramatic red dunes of the Sahara Desert on a camel’s back, experiencing an unforgettable sunset – then stay under a blanket of North African stars in a desert camp.
Spend time in two of Morocco’s most picturesque towns – the 11th century kasbah of Ait Benhaddou and Chefchaouen, with its striking blue and whitewashed houses, red-tiled roofs and artistic doorways.
Watch the scenery change from desert to oasis in Todra Gorge and Dades Valley. Get active on a hike, learn about life in the oasis and enjoy a delicious home-cooked lunch with Amazigh hosts.
Dive into the culture and history of Morocco – admire the majestic Volubilis ruins, rub shoulders with the locals in the old medina in Fes, and see the museums of Casablanca.
Where else would you find drummers, dancers, fortune tellers, jugglers, street food vendors and old medicine men all in one place? In Marrakech of course, exploring the acclaimed Djemaa el-Fnaa.
By travelling on this trip, you’ll learn about our Tuuur Foundation partner, Amal. Donations support them to provide women in Morocco with culinary skills training to help improve livelihoods. Tuuur will double your impact by dollar-matching all post-trip donations made to The Tuuur Foundation.
Is this trip right for you?
Summer temperatures in Morocco can get very hot (over 40°C). If you're travelling in the warmer months, be sure to wear layers, use sun protection and drink plenty of water. Nights can get quite cold, so warm clothes are essential.
Ramadan is an annual month-long festival, during which travel can be a rewarding cultural experience, however some regular services may not be available during the day, such as restaurants or cafes, and occasionally travel can be disrupted by events. Your leader will adjust the itinerary accordingly, but please consider this when selecting your travel dates. You’ll find dates and further information in the ‘Climate and seasonal information’ section of the Essential Trip Information.
As this trip covers quite a lot of ground there are some long drives. These are excellent opportunities to get to know your fellow travellers, catch up on some reading, or simply appreciate the scenery.
This trip doesn’t spend a lot of time in Marrakech. We highly recommend you plan extra time in this fascinating city if your time allows. Please speak to your booking agent if you are interested in booking additional nights in the city.

A great trip that packs a lot in, in a short amount of time. Be prepared to be constantly on the go, but it's worth it to see so much of what this country has to offer.

This was my first time travelling with Intrepid and it was an amazing experience. It was well organized, the included activities were fun and exactly what we wanted. Faissal was the best tour guide! He went over and beyond to keep us safe, ensure we had a fun time, and teach us about Moroccon culture.

John & Liz This trip is very worthwhile and provides great value - the relatively long time spent in the bus is justified in the range and diversity of experience and locations visited - our guide was excellent and took great care of us throughout - in short this is a well constructed and executed experience - we would 100% recommend for any first time Morocco visitors

Enjoyable tour which is fast paced and covers a lot of ground. The drives can be long but there are enough breaks in between to make it bearable. Accomodation is very basic and run down. Our tour guide Salem made the tour so much more enjoyable and safe.

This adventure encompasses a fast paced, authentic and thorough introduction to Morocco We were lucky enough to have an exceptional guide in Fouad, He was professional, patient and willingly gave of his time. Fouad had an extensive knowledge, in all aspects of the country, which was delivered with enthusiasm and made the trip an excellent, enjoyable one. Our safe driver Kamal drove us in comfort and always cheerfully. The desert and Chefchaouen were favourite stops but the whole trip was memorable. Being part of a group which was good fun and kind also ensured success.
