This is trip spends time at altitude; you should refer to the Medical & Health Information for this trip to understand the risks.
verified
This is a walking trip, and you must be in a good physical shape to fully enjoy it. On most of the walking days, we will walk for up to 5 hours.
verified
To avoid long and difficult climbs, cable car lifts have been included on 4 walking days. These rides will reward you with breathtaking views, but please be aware you will be very high off the ground.
verified
Be sure to bring the appropriate gear required for alpine hikes. See the ‘Packing’ section of the Essential Trip Information for more detail.

On this trip you must pack as lightly as possible because you will be expected to carry your own bag and although you won't be required to walk long distances with your luggage (max 30 minutes), we strongly recommend keeping the weight under 15 kg (33 lb). Most travellers carry their luggage in a backpack, although an overnight bag with a shoulder strap would suffice. You'll also need a day pack/bag to carry water and a camera for daytrips.

A great and physically demanding trip. Wonderful views of the mountains and glaciers. Most anyone will enjoy it if they are prepared. I should have trained a bit more, but I finished with a real sense of accomplishment. I enjoyed talking to and helping the varied group members, so that we all completed each days hike.

We had an excellent trip. There were no unpleasant and unexpected surprises. The food was great and Baptiste, our guide, was exceptional. He was patient, enthusiastic and very knowledgeable.
The scenery around Chamonix was spectacular. It was actually “jaw dropping “ at times.
This was our second trip with Intrepid Travel and we would highly recommend them.

Highly recommend! You will want a good hiking base (uphill and downhill) for this one! Stunning scenery and challenging but well-paced hikes, with long, relaxing picnic lunches and some cable-car and train rides to break up the hiking. The organized hikes were quite long most days, leaving around 8:30 or 9 am and not returning to the hotel until 4 or later. Still, there were usually a couple hours for down time (Lykke Spa was fabulous) before meeting for a multicourse French dinner at a local restaurant. Lots of together time, but we had a fun group and a terrific leader, Gwen.

This trip is a great way to explore the area and see the highlights! We hiked throughout the area with a variety of terrain. Some hikes were technically challenging at times, but I feel the rating 4/5 in on par. The area is stunning! We really enjoyed our leader, Gwen.

My wife and I had a great time on our Mont Blanc Highlights tour in September. We're both 64 and pretty avid hikers, and we found the trip challenging but very rewarding. Our guide Baptiste was the absolute best!

Highly recommend! Great hikes with amazing views, which offered a few challenges and were slightly technical, but were very fun and accessible to all. It was great to be able to see all that Mont Blanc has to offer yet having a comfortable meal and a stay at a hotel which included a spa each night. Our guide Baptiste was also great with everyone and definitely gave us the full French experience!
