Trip Informations
Why you’ll love this trip
Spend a week hiking the French Swiss Alps to see some of Europe’s most beautiful natural sights, including glaciers, lakes and mountains.
Soar over spectacular scenery and soak in unbeatable views during a series of cable car rides, meaning you can walk through the region’s best landscapes without the tiring climbs.
Explore with an experienced International Mountain Leader – a highly qualified guide who will ensure the group’s safety while bringing the scenery to life.
Stay in a historic hotel in the heart of Chamonix , surrounded by snow-capped peaks. Unpack just once and enjoy an epic location that can’t be topped.
Hiking can really work up an appetite, which is why all meals are included on hiking days, ensuring you’re fuelled up for your adventures.
Is this trip right for you?
This is a walking trip, and you must be in a good physical shape to fully enjoy it. On most of the walking days, we will walk for up to 5 hours.
To avoid long and difficult climbs, cable car lifts have been included on 4 walking days. These rides will reward you with breathtaking views, but please be aware you will be very high off the ground.
Be sure to bring the appropriate gear required for alpine hikes. See the ‘Packing’ section of the Essential Trip Information for more detail.
This trip visits points over 2500 m, where there is a risk of being affected by Acute Mountain Sickness. Please be aware of the symptoms and let your leader know if you or any of your fellow travellers experience any.
On this trip you must pack as lightly as possible because you will be expected to carry your own bag and although you won't be required to walk long distances with your luggage (max 30 minutes), we strongly recommend keeping the weight under 15 kg (33 lb). Most travellers carry their luggage in a backpack, although an overnight bag with a shoulder strap would suffice. You'll also need a day pack/bag to carry water and a camera for daytrips.

Highly recommend! Great hikes with amazing views, which offered a few challenges and were slightly technical, but were very fun and accessible to all. It was great to be able to see all that Mont Blanc has to offer yet having a comfortable meal and a stay at a hotel which included a spa each night. Our guide Baptiste was also great with everyone and definitely gave us the full French experience!

This was a great trip for me. Having just finished cycling in the area then joining this trip based in Chamonix, a beautiful town, gave me a balance of walking the local tracks with a small group and well guided by Danny and relaxing in the town. Even when paragliding one morning!

Great trip to Mont Blanc. For a semi-regular hiker the walks were all very doable. If you don't hike regularly or are not fit then perhaps avoid. Chamonix is expensive but a number of meals are included - although three of these were in the hotel and there was a limited menu with only four main course options which got boring after the third visit! If you want to go to Aiguille du Midi on the day off book at least two days in advance as tickets run out.

This trip was absolutely amazing! Chamonix is beautiful and every single hike had crazy good views. It was so nice staying in Chamonix every night because we got a better feel for the town and good sleep before the hikes. Our guide Baptiste took great care of our group and kept us laughing and learning the whole time! It was a perfect trip and I would recommend it to anyone and everyone!!

Wonderful trip - from the accommodation to the walking and amazing views, I loved this trip. We were quite fortunate with the weather and our tour leader was flexible and swapped days around when the weather looked unfavourable or to accommodate group interests. Would definitely recommend this trip ... to get the most out of it, make sure you've done the recommended training.

The Mont Blanc highlights was exactly as I had hoped for. An amazing opportunity to hike at higher altitudes with great support from guides. Loved being able to go back to the hotel at night, debrief and socialise with our group. Looking forward to more Intrepid Tours.

Mont Blanc Highlights was a terrific tour. The hikes around the Mont Blanc area were spectacular and the inclusion of cable cars and chair lifts to access the higher meadows was great. Coming back to a comfortable hotel room at the end of the day was a real bonus. Danny our guide organised delicious picnic lunches and was very knowledgeable.

Hiking in Chamonix with Intrepid left a wonderful glow which lasted for the rest of our European trip. This was clearly a highlight! Challenging hiking with incredibly beautiful vistas! Our guide, Julia shared a wealth of information with our small group which truly enhanced our experience. Looking forward to our next Intrepid adventure.

Mont Blanc Highlights was a amazing trip. Our mountain guide Pierre was 10/10. He challenged us and encouraged us, but also made modifications to accommodate the groups’ fitness levels without compromising anyone. He was thoughtful and kind. Coming back to the gorgeous hotel each night was fabulous as we could make the most of the charming town of Chamonix and rest up in a comfortable bed.
