Trip Informations
Encounter wildlife and salt pans on this eight-day overland adventure that visits two of southern Africa’s most famous sites – Kruger National Park and Victoria Falls. Spot lions, leopards, zebras and giraffes on a safari through landscapes blessed with breathtaking natural beauty, then fall asleep to the sounds of the African night in your comfortable camp. Keep your eyes peeled for rhinos, buffalo, elephants and hippos in South Africa’s Kruger National Park, go on a bush walk with members of the world's first all-female anti-poaching unit, the Black Mambas, then end this epic journey with a visit to Zimbabwe’s mighty Victoria Falls.
Why you’ll love this trip
verified
Head out on a very special bush walk with members of the world's first all-female anti-poaching unit – the Black Mambas. During this exclusive experience, learn how they're deterring poachers and patrolling 20,000 hectares of nature reserve, then spend the evening listening to their stories by the campfire.
verified
Search for Africa’s stunning wildlife on a full day 4WD game drive in Kruger National Park, looking out for lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards and rhinos.
verified
Experience the rumble and roar of Victoria Falls from the Zimbabwe side, which gives you the broadest view of its phenomenal torrent.
verified
Fall asleep to the sounds of the African wilderness in comfort – camping beds, sleeping bags, blankets and pillows are provided for your nights under the stars.
verified
Witness the raw power of Victoria Falls, where the Zambezi River plunges over a mile-wide cliff into the gorge below — one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.
Is this trip right for you?
verified
No two journeys in Africa are identical. Be prepared for travel times to be longer or shorter than advised. Weather and road conditions can change things significantly, so embrace the detours, shortcuts and unforgettable moments along the way.
verified
This is an overland trip, so you’ll be travelling with a group in a purpose-built vehicle. While the trucks don’t have air conditioning, they do have sliding windows which let in the breeze and make it even easier to take spectacular snaps of the local wildlife. The drive days can be long, but it’s as much about the journey as the destination, and half the fun is the camaraderie. For more info on this style of travel, see our Africa overland page: tuuur.com/au/africa/overland.
verified
There will be many early starts, either to make use of the better safari time or to beat the morning traffic on long travel days.
verified
The day-to-day itinerary features a selection of optional activities. Please note that this list is not exhaustive and is intended only as a guide. Prices are approximate and may change at the discretion of the local provider, and all activities are subject to availability.
verified
This trip can be partnered with other adventures into a ‘combo’, which means that some of your fellow travellers may carry on to further destinations at the end of this tour. If you’d like to spend more time in Africa, have a look at the combo itinerary: Experience Southern Africa (UBSCC).

Our tip to Kruger National Park and Victoria Falls was such an opportunity to see the wonders of the natural world. Khensani is the perfect leader-professional, fun with an ability to create a wonderful atmosphere in the group. The information he gave us came at the right times and in the right amount.

Having just travelled through South Africa, Botswana and Zimbabwe, I couldn’t be happier when crossing my safari adventure off my bucket list.
The staff at Intrepid made sure that the notion of being a family and watching out for each other ensured life long friendships within the group.

This trip was excellent from start to finish
Although there are lots of very early starts, there is chance to relax on the drives, the activities are so interesting from safaris to salt pans, the camping is fun, the Lodges a treat after camping, plenty of chance to interact with locals, a fantastic trio of teal leader, cook and driver
Thankyou Intrepid for our 3rd wonderful adventure, we will be back next year!
