Trip Informations
Discover charming island life on a tour across Flores – Indonesia's ‘Flower Island’. On this nine-day trip, you’ll hike to Mt Kelimutu at sunrise, soak in the Mengeruda Hot Springs, visit a remote village in Wae Rebo and walk through the spiderweb rice terraces. Spend two days sailing through the Komodo Islands and hike to the top for amazing views, swim at Pink Beach and see the home of the Komodo dragon up close. Exploring one of Indonesia’s less-touristed islands, this is one adventure you’ll remember for years, taking the road less travelled and experiencing the unique culture and hospitality of Flores along the way.

There are some long travel days on this trip. We will be driving by private transport (as there are no suitable public transport options available). Some of the roads can be quite bumpy as local infrastructure development is limited. We will make stops to break up the trip and it is a good idea to read or listen to music along the way, and to bring some medication if you are prone to carsickness.
verified
Accommodation in general in Flores is more basic than you would experience in Bali as tourism is still developing. There are some nights there hot shower is not available and the rooms will be multi-share. This is, of course, a small price to pay for the chance to venture off the well-beaten tourist path.
verified
You will need to be a confident swimmer to participate in this trip’s included snorkelling activity. Those who don't wish to snorkel can choose to spend time on the boat or beach instead.
verified
There are some included treks so good fitness and suitable footwear is required. See the itinerary for more detail.

Excellent itinerary. Long drive days as described, however scenic and we had plenty of stops. Yohanes was a great guide. Thoroughly enjoyed off the beaten path travel. Recommend allowing some extra time at the end for snorkelling and a day at the start to get two shots at seeing the crater lakes in case the sunrise is a washout.

Great trip, but some very long days in the van. Well worth it. Try to see the hobbit cave if you have time. Great finale in Komodo national park

The Flores trip is full of natural wonders, views, stunning scenery, authentic communities and nature. More rustic than other islands, quieter and the boat trip is a brilliant end.

I highly recommend the Komodo & Flores Adventure trip. Yes, there are some long travelling days on bumpy, windy roads but the places you see and the people you meet along the way make it worthwhile. Finishing the trip with the 2 day/1 night boat trip was perfect - I loved seeing the Komodo Dragons, the amazing vistas and really enjoyed the snorkelling. We were very lucky to have Yan as our trip leader as despite a few trip challenges (our flights to Ende were cancelled on day 1) he was able to pivot and come up with a plan B and we always felt in safe hands. He was also very knowledgeable sharing lots of information about Flores and it's people.

The Komodo and Flores adventure is a terrific trip. Our leader Yan was incredible and very knowledgable. He made the trip the best. Highlight was the boat trip and seeing 3 Komodo dragons on Komodo Island. The days are long, food and accomodation was great. I highly recommend this trip.

A great overland trip to see a less touristy part of Indonesia. Yohanes the guide is amazing fun and made sure everyone got the experience they wanted. Highlight was time on the boat and playing football with the local kids

Our tour guide Yohanas was the best guide I’ve ever had the pleasure of traveling with. I highly recommend anyone wanting to explore Flores to book and travel with him.

This was our second trip to Indonesia with Intrepid and we had a great time, again. Travelling through Flores and Komodo was truly an adventure with plenty of challenging physical activites and interesting stops along the way. As advertised there were long drives along bumpy and windy roads but it was fantastic to explore volcanoes, traditional villages, ancient caves and forests on Flores; encounter dragons on Komodo; and snorkel with turtles, rays and a myriad of stunning fish and coral in the warm waters around Labuan Bajo. We had a lovely group, and Yohanes was a fabulous leader.

I love small group travel! I love not having to plan! I love having a guide to take care of me!
