Trip Informations
Why you’ll love this trip
Spend two days exploring the Bungle Bungles– a unique orange and black striped 'beehive' formation more than 20 million years old.
Relax at Lake Argyle – one of the largest man-made lakes in the southern hemisphere. Kayak, stand-up paddleboard or swim in the infinity pool and soak up the views of the area.
Hike to gorges and waterfalls in the El Questro Wilderness Park. Unwind in the natural thermal pools shaded by palm trees and look for ripple markings in the rocks, formed under shallow tidal waters millions of years ago.
Explore the rugged terrain of the Mitchell Plateau on a 4WD adventure. Hike to the four-tiered Mitchell Falls and take a helicopter flight back to camp for panoramic views from above.
Visit the secluded Dalmanyi (Bell Gorge) and swim in the clear pool, surrounded by a horseshoe of cliffs and tiered waterfalls.
Is this trip right for you?
This is a camping trip for those who are looking for the basics. Simple facilities and lack of emphasis on creature comforts make this an authentic experience of the Australian outback. All of the camping equipment you need is provided, including stretcher beds and a mattress to sleep on, 190cm high tents, comfortable camping chairs, linen and a pillow. All you need to bring is a sleeping bag (or purchase one from us for an additional cost). A Single Supplement is not available on this trip. As a single traveller, you will be paired up with another single traveller of the same gender.
On some days of the trip, you’ll spend several hours driving through very sparse areas of Australia. Sit back and enjoy landscapes that you would miss in any other form of travel. Extra space can be tight, and conditions may feel a little cramped. There will be some very early mornings.
This itinerary involves some clambering over rocks, wading in water by torchlight, walking on rocky creek beds and ascending/descending into gorges. A reasonable level of fitness and being sure on your feet is necessary to participate.

14 day Kimberley trip was great. The scenery in the places we visited was spectacular and the swimming spots were amazing. Our guides were fantastic and we had a great group of fellow travellers. The dirt roads can be rough going but the end destinations make it all worthwhile.

I loved this 14 day Kimberley tour. The guides/drivers were very capable, knowledgeable, related well to our group and cooked delicious, healthy meals. The walks in the beautiful gorges and swims in the swimming holes and under the waterfalls were wonderful.

The Kimberly experience will open your eyes to the marvels and remote nature of a corner of Australia rarely visited by most tourists. Be prepared to be surprised.

I’ve just come back from the Kimberley trail tour. This was my first trip with Intrepid and I must say it was an awesome experience. Our leaders Jasmine and Kayla were a remarkable team. Everything ran like clockwork, well organised, food was 5 star ( Jas I hope that cookbook will be in print soon 😊) some hikes were challenging( I’m 73)but we all coped well and in most cases there is the reward of a waterfall and a swim at the end. The only complaint I have that the trip should be 3 days longer to have more time in some places. The helicopter rides are a must and a real treat as well. So glad I booked this trip. I loved every minute of it.

This trip is all I expected, and so much more. We covered considerable distance, but the destinations were absolutely worth the travel time. Epic waterfalls, quiet waterholes, rock art, sunset cruises, ancient art on rock, and so much more, and all the while, guided and assisted by the Best Ever Guides.
