See the many historic and holy sites of Nepal and discover the cultural roots of the Nepalese people
Gain wonderful insight into what local life is like in the rural areas of Nepal outside of Kathmandu

Low altitude trek, great for first time trekker
By travelling on this trip, you’ll directly support our Tuuur Foundation partner, Sagarmatha Next. Donations help them remove waste responsibly and turn rubbish into art in the Everest region.
Is this trip right for you?
On Short Breaks, you maintain a good level of independence and freedom, with the added bonus of having the details sorted out for you. You’ll have lots of free time and you won’t be accompanied by a Trip Leader. This means that all included activities and tours will be run by different local Tuuur partners, and these may operate independently from each other. The included activities and transfers will operate on a join-in basis, which means that you could have your Adventure all to yourself, or others may join you along the way. If you would prefer to travel in a group with a dedicated Trip Leader, just get in touch with your booking agent and they will take you through some alternatives.
While no where near as challenging as a multi-day trek at altitude such as Everest Base Camp, you will still need excellent fitness for this trek as you will be trekking 5-7 hours a day on Days 1-3.
Take note of the time of year you are trekking to know what to expect weather wise. While June-August is monsoon, weather conditions can be unpredictable at any time of the year including rain and fog which can make views cloudy and the ground muddy.
A duffel bag is provided on this trip, along with a porter. Your porter can carry up to 8kg per traveller. Other luggage can be left in Kathmandu.

It was too cloudy to see the Himalayas, but we had a good time anyway! Our guides were fantastic - friendly and knowledgeable.

Really enjoyed this 3 day trek, day 2 was quite challenging however the rest of the trip took us through a beautiful national park and local villages. My guide Arjun and porter Susil really helped make the trip as enjoyable as it was.

Unforgettable Kathmandu Valley hike! Breathtaking mountain views, especially at sunrise. Our exceptional leader, Hari, made the experience with his vast knowledge and attentiveness. Perfect difficulty level, great food, and comfortable accommodations. Felt safe throughout. Intrepid's team, including porters, was fantastic. A perfect 10 - couldn't ask for a better trek!

This trip is perfect if you don't have much time in Nepal. You'll still get fabulous views of the Himalayas and see some spectacular historic sites. My guide, Rajendra, was wonderful and made sure I had a good experience in Nepal. Already planning my next visit!

This was a great trek with opportunities to enjoy culture and nature. Ram was polite, attentive, and positive during the trek. The food was excellent and although it rained each day, the trek was overall a worthwhile experience.
