Why you’ll love this trip

Is this trip right for you?
verified
This trip is made for travellers who value their independence but also want the benefit of a local leader and a group of like-minded travellers. The itinerary has plenty of free time where your leader will offer suggestions. Please budget spending money for optional activities you want to partake in and public transport to those activities.
verified
Japan is best explored on foot and by public transport. You’ll need to be fit enough to spend most of each day on your feet and able to handle your luggage as you navigate busy train stations. We recommend comfortable shoes and packing light.
verified
In some destinations, you may stay in multi-share accommodation, like a hostel or a minshuku (a Japanese-style inn). You’ll be able to experience pod hostels or the tradition of sleeping on futon mattresses on the floor, but the facilities will be shared. Travellers on the same booking may be split between rooms due to the single gender floor arrangement for the stay in hostels.
verified
Double rooms in Japanese hotels can be smaller than you may be used to (e.g. 20 sq m). Every effort will be made to accommodate double room requests. However, during busy periods, there may be occasions when we are unable to offer a double room, so a twin room will be provided.

A excellent trip with enough time to cover all the highlights. Japan is incredible from the food and the respectful culture to the major cities and quiet islands. Be prepared for crowds but it’s well worth the effort.

Hiro was an incredible tour guide!! I felt myself even more fascinated with her stories about the history of certain landmarks we visited and the casual stories of locals. I also enjoyed how she was always available to answer our questions or even give recommendations on where to go explore or even where to eat from every possible direction we went to, and even suggested the best time to go to avoid lines or crowds. She was also very savvy about how we can navigate the subway, trains, and airport. I felt safe and assured traveling with her. Thank you, Hiro, for the incredible time we had in Japan. It was truly magical!! ありがとうございます (Arigatou gozaimasu)

This trip is the best one yet for me (of three with intrepid each as a solo traveler). Just go. Japan is like something out of a movie… I’ve never been to a country in the east this rich. They do big cities better. Clean, orderly, safe, polite people, simply amazing. Silent subways. No rodents in sight. You need WiFi (try WiFi box or get an eSIM). Make sure your phone works (Uber saved me when I got separated from group). Think…would you want to be in nyc without WiFi or a way to call an Uber? I felt super safe thanks to my guide and the itinerary was very Christian friendly (if that’s you). But at the same time, if you want to go to the club (we did! Highly recommend) the guide will help you plan that too. Simply amazing experience. Once in a lifetime and very affordable trip.
